More feuding amongst social media pundits, much to the amusement of the cyberspace denizens. Insults back and forth are attention getters, of course, and there are some legitimate grievances here, so it’s not all showbiz.
But why? What good comes out of imitating the Hatfields and McCoys? To be fair, another question could be, why not? You can make money on the net if people click on you.
Once upon a time, I was in this world, but on linear TV. NBC tried to hire me away from Fox, and when I respectfully turned them down, the network unleashed cable attack dogs to smear me. Unprecedented at the time.

Then the despicable Al Franken, a charter member of the gutter snipe hall of fame, released a book calling me a “liar.” My face was on the cover of said book. I sued. Franken danced with glee. His book got tons of publicity. The suit went nowhere because famous people have no standing in the American civil court system.
It took a while, but I finally learned what Machiavelli wrote a long time ago. “If you’re going to dine with the devil, bring a long spoon.”
