You may have noticed a pattern among Trump haters on the left.  Whenever the president does something intended to keep Americans safer, Democrats object by finding the proverbial needle in a haystack, something that makes Trump, Homan, Miller, and Noem look cruel and heartless.

 

One example was the outrage over Kilmar Abrego Garcia. In March the Trump team shipped hundreds of illegal gang members to a prison in El Salvador, undoubtedly making life better in the cities where they had been living. But Democrats and their media allies latched on to Abrego Garcia, portraying him as a harmless ‘Maryland man.’ He was the needle in the haystack, a convenient excuse for the left to run wild. 

It’s true that Abrego Garcia should have been deported to a different country, but he was in the USA illegally, and it was soon revealed that the ‘Maryland man’ was an alleged gang member, human trafficker, and wife-beater.  The Democrats who made the pilgrimage to visit him in prison have mostly moved on.

 

More recently, ICE has been on a roll in Massachusetts, rounding up 15-hundred illegal aliens.  Most had criminal records, but lefties again found their cherished needle.  This time it was 18-year-old high school student Marcelo Gomes Da Silva. Democratic politicians pounced, painting immigration agents as evil monsters. 

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu called ICE ‘secret police’ who are snatching people off the streets.  There were few media reports about the heinous crimes committed by the other detainees, only a focus on the high schooler.  Marcelo may be a terrific young man who will someday be a great American, but right now he’s merely a convenient tool for the left.

 

Then there’s the unspeakable crime in Colorado, where an Israeli-hating Egyptian man set Jews on fire with a makeshift flamethrower.  Mohamed Soliman was in the country illegally after overstaying his visa, so the left really had to stretch to denounce Trump.  They found a way!  Here’s an actual headline from USA Today:  ‘Boulder Suspect’s Daughter Dreamed of Studying Medicine. Now She Faces Deportation.’  Someone might inform the young woman and USA Today that there are fine medical schools in Egypt.

 

It’s a long tradition for politicians on both sides to blame the other guys, but today’s Democrats have perfected it to an art form, usually with plenty of help from their pals in the media. Remember that next time the administration does something that seemingly helps ordinary Americans.  Dems will find the needle, and the media will ignore the haystack.
