A Chance to Succeed
Actor Harrison Ford is 83 years old and looks pretty damn good if you ask me. He's on the cover of Variety magazine, waxing philosophical about a number of things, including capitalism.

Says the hero of Star Wars: "It's like it's always been, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and that ain't exactly right."

Okay.  Harrison Ford got rich and famous by using his God given acting talent.  Folks decided to pay money to see his movies. Nothing wrong with that.  No fix was in for the charismatic Ford.

In America, Harrison got a chance to succeed and made it happen.  In Cuba, that would not have occurred because there is no film industry to speak of. Why? Because you need "capital" to make movies and pay Harrison Ford.  No capital in communist countries.

On the poverty side, millions of Americans are in that zone.  And there is usually a compelling reason why. Lack of education, laziness, addiction, violent behavior, just to name a few.

So, what would Harrison have America do? Poverty is most often a personal responsibility issue.  If you develop a skill, work hard, and live in an honest way, you won't be poor.  Got it?

I hope so because my analysis is "exactly right."

Have a fun weekend.
