Hey, BillOReilly.com Premium Members, welcome to the No Spin News for New Year's Eve. Tuesday, December 31st, 2019. Fight for Your Freedom.
That's the last time I'll say 2019 in the context of what day it is, because this is our last broadcasts of the year, because this is the last day of the year. Thursday and Friday, I'm going to rerun Monday and Tuesday. So, we're gonna open it up to everybody and if you have friends, family, whatever, enemies, give them a call. Give them a text. Give them an email. Say, hey, BillOReilly.com, we are going to have the best coverage for the election next year, there's no doubt about it, by the way. I've got it set up so that every day you'll know exactly what's happening in the struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans. We will not pull any punches at all, we're going to root for anybody, even though you know that I feel the Democratic Party at this point is not where it should be and not serving you, but it's foolish for me to skew my coverage. If the Democrats pull out in front, I am going to tell you.
What else is going on, before I get into the news today? Holly, the terror dog will be on the Discovery Channel. Greta Van Susteren's show, Pet Tales. It's a special, it was gonna run at 8:00 a.m. Not exactly primetime, but that's all right. You get to work your way up. On the Discovery Channel. That's Saturday, January 4th, 8:00 a.m. Discovery Channel. Get your VCR cranked or whatever. Holly, the terror dog makes her national television debut.
The lead story today is a Zogby Poll on Donald Trump's job approval rating. I do not believe this poll and Zogby has had a lot of trouble over the past few years. However, there's one very interesting part of the poll. So according Zogby, Donald Trump's approval rating, job approval rating is 50 percent. That's the highest number that we've seen in any poll for quite some time. Disapprove, 48 percent. But here's the methodology, the Zogby poll has 36 percent Democrat, 36 percent Republican and 28 percent independent, all right, unaffiliated party. We don't know whether they lean left or right.
This is the first poll that I've seen that has 36 Democrats, 36, and that's why you get the higher number. The others all skew it more to the Democratic Party saying that's legitimate because there are more registered Democrats in the country than Republicans. But this is likely voters, eight hundred and sixty five, very small sample. 865 likely voters, 50 approve, 48 do not.
Now, in the Rasmussen daily poll, excuse me, 46 percent approve, 53 do not. Rasmussen, as I mentioned more than once, was the only poll that accurately, accurately predicted Donald Trump will win in 2016. Five days before the election, I told you that Trump would win.
All right, so with all of this impeachment and horro and all that, Donald Trump's approval rating has gone up. So, the only thing you can take away is that Americans know the impeachment thing's a sham. One my favorite words, S-H-A-M. In my column, suggesting resolutions to powerful people in America, I use the word sham. I hope you have read that column.
In another poll by ThirdWay, no idea what that is, it says that African-Americans are going to vote against Donald Trump in big, big, big numbers. I don't believe a word of that in the sense that I know African-Americans will vote for the Democratic Party much more than a Republican Party, that is no doubt about that. But I think Trump is going to peel off twelve percent of African-Americans and that's a pretty good number for him. I think a lot of African-Americans will stay home if Joe Biden is not the nominee. Biden can mobilize black voters. The others cannot. So I'd bring you up to date on that.
NBC News is really falling apart, as you know, they're not really a news agency anymore. They have a reporter, a guy named Ben Collins, he's a reporter correspondent. It used to be NBC News, if you were a correspondent for NBC, ABC or CBS, that was a real prestigious job. I held it at both CBS and ABC. It was very prestigious to do it. Now, not so much. So, Ben Collins is a former editor of The Daily Beast, far left Web site. Why would NBC hire this guy to be a reporter? Because NBC doesn't care about reportage or fairness. Roll this guy.
"He's created a secondary ecosystem for himself that absolves him of everything. You know, in these spaces, there was just a graphic up there that showed, you know, this pipeline from Fortune all the way to Facebook. In these spaces where he's like a God emperor, that's what they call him on Fortune and this Reddit forum called, The Donald. It's the largest Donald Trump community on the Internet. You know, he cannot do wrong.".
So, he is saying that Donald Trump has created this ecosystem, what a trendy word, of that he's a god. Now, I don't know if that's true because I don't do this. This is a waste of time, my time, but I do know that Ben Collins and all the people at NBC News, all of them, 100 percent of them hate Donald Trump. So if the president did create an ecosystem to fight that, he'd be smart, not corrupt. If you have an entire news agency that hates you and they'll do anything to hurt you, aren't you going to defend yourself in some way? Okay.
In the... let me do the CNN story, because that flows right into what we just talked about. I had the CNN story down in a show a little bit, but I'm gonna pull it out now. So CNN is the same thing as NBC, except NBC is bigger. Comcast is bigger. CNN is owned by AT&T, which are having all kinds of problems. AT&T is just seems to be chaotic. CNN basically is top down run. So the guy named Jeff Zucker runs it and tells his people what to do and say, and they do. They want to work. One of his main, I got to choose the right word here, messengers is a guy named Brian Stelter, awful human being and he does a show called "Reliable Sources." The always I mention this is that on Sunday, December 22nd. "Reliable Sources" got eighty five thousand viewers in the 25 to 54 demographic, all time low. I've never seen a number for a promoted program on cable news that low. That is all I'm going to say.
Births in the USA zre down. All right. So, people are not having kids the way they used to, it's the slowest in a century. All right, slowest growth rate in a century. From 2018 and 19, population increase, one point five million people here, most of them immigrants, not births, and we have 328 citizens in the United States, three to twenty eight million. You know, that's manageable. China's got one point five billion, five times as many as we have, but it's immigrants, not births here.
Ten states had population declines. My state, New York, lost 77,000 people in the past year. Armageddon, most of those people have money, taxpayers, gone because New York is totally out of control under Governor Cuomo. New York City under Mayor de Blasio, totally out of control. We saw it yesterday when the guy punched a cop, knocked him to the ground and they let him out with no bail. That's anarchy. Police are not protected anymore. I don't know how you do that job. I don't know how you patrol a city like New York with 8 million people, when if you get punched in the face, the guy walks. I don't know how that happens, but it is. Taxes here in New York are crazy. Upstate New York is a desolate place because Cuomo won't allow fracking, won't allow any infrastructure growth up there. People are just hanging on. So everybody's going south, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, much easier places in which to live way, way less expensive. Taxes are way lower and that's where everybody is going.
Seventy seven thousand people. Illinois lost 51,000. Illinois is another disaster, a disaster in that state. West Virginia, 12,000. Louisiana, 11,000. Connecticut, six thousand. Mississippi, Hawaii, New Jersey, Alaska and Vermont lost about 5,000 each. All high tax states except West Virginia. I don't really know what's going on there. A lot of poverty in Appalachia, that's for sure. So there are the demographics for you.
It's gonna get worse here in New York. California is losing a lot of people too, but they're being replaced by foreign nationals. So California got people coming into Nevada and or Arizona, you know, asset people, because they're not going to get, they can't live there anymore. My nephew just got out of there, he's living in Silicon Valley, couldn't afford it, he moved to Virginia. He just couldn't make it. He's 30 years old and he's smart and has good job and very productive American. Out.
James Comey writes a op ed in The Washington Post every couple of weeks whining about how unfair life is to him, and the latest is that he feels like President Trump yelling at him is like a sad old guy yelling at you to get off his lawn. Now, the reason this is happening is that Comey knows there is a good likelihood he'll be indicted and he's setting up The Washington Post as his defense team. All right. He's getting out in front of it, oh I'm a victim, it's a persecution. I didn't do anything wrong, which, of course he did. I mean, it's obvious he did stuff wrong. Peter Strzok, same thing. Peter Strzok was third in command. It was Comey, McCabe and Strzok. All three of them, if I had a bet, I would say they're going to be indicted. All three of them.
So, Strzok says the federal gunman has violated his privacy rights and free speech rights because they exposed his hate-Trump texts. This is the third in command at the FBI, in charge at one point of the Russian collusion investigation. He's whining his rights are violated? This is the mentality. This is what it is. Strzok is doing the same thing as Comey. He's setting up his defense in the media.
Overseas, you have to understand this dynamic. After all the blood and treasure we spent in Iraq, Iran is still more powerful in Iraq than the USA. That's because the Shia majority aligns itself with Iran. So earlier this week, the USA bombed terror camps funded by Iran in Syria and Iraq. Boom, five airstrikes. So, yesterday and let's roll some tape on this. This Shia got in Baghdad and attacked the U.S. embassy in the Green Zone. Now, I spent some time in the Green Zone, it is very fortified, but Iran is controlling many violent people in Iraq and that's never going to stop unless you remove the mullahs in Iran. Because the Shia religion overrides politics and Shia is aligned with the Shia in Iran, Iraq, and they align themselves according to religion. So that's what you're seeing over there. Never going to stop. Never.
Penn State University. There's a study and this is pretty bizarre. So the study classifies Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin, Joe Rogan and I think they bring in Dennis Prager as well, as fringe figures, part of an online, quote, "alternative influence network that opens a pathway to dangerous white nationalist ideologies." Shapiro? I mean, I can understand him because he talks too fast, but I never, you know, he's on the radio in New York. I don't see that. I don't know Rubin. Rogan, I know who he is, I don't really follow him. Watson, I don't know. I do know Dennis Prager, who has an excellent column, by the way, on the leftist philosophy. You can get it on RealClearPolitics.com and I recommend that site. But this Penn State University study, it says it makes a case that a white nationalist audience exists in the USA and has content available to them by these guys. I don't believe a word of this, not a word of it. But this is what you get on the net.
All right. We have a good Final Thought, I'm watching that movie on Netflix, I finally figured out how to get Netflix, "Two Popes", I watched half of it last night. I will watch the other half tonight. It's good, but Pope Francis has made a comment about cell phones and I want to talk about in the Final Thought. Also got a good mail segment. Let's do this first. We'll be right back.
Here's something interesting, Glenn Beck launched RealEstateAgentsITrust.com for a very simple reason, to help you sell your home quickly and for top dollar. Selling or buying a home is very complicated and difficult to navigate, so they chose agents with a long track record of success. Market value for your home cannot be done by calculation, it just can't. It takes years of expertise to evaluate your market, to price your home and to sell quickly for top dollar. Home sellers must genuinely like the agent they choose to trust their home to and that's why Beck and his team select agents that are fans of his, like you are. So get moving with RealEstateAgentsITrust.com. RealEstateAgentsITrust.com.
Okay. Let's go to the mail. Thomas, Concierge Member. Thank you, Thomas. Now, remember, Thomas, you and all Concierge Members and Premium members also, get huge discounts in our store on books and everything else. So, all my Killing books, got eight of them out, all right, you can get them for less than you would in the stores or on Amazon or what. Check that out. Also, the gear that we have and all that, everything's marked down after Christmas sale. So Thomas says:.
"Bill, you said this coming election is the most important of our lifetime. Don't you think the last one was? If Hillary Clinton had won, we'd be heading down a socialist path already and all the corruption and the Obama administration would have covered been covered up."
You know, look, Thomas. Hillary Clinton is not a socialist and I do not believe she would have done the Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren Green New Deal routine. I don't believe that for a second/ I could be wrong. it's speculation. Secondly, Hillary Clinton, nothing is going to happen to her. All right, I know the right wing wants her to be punished, but it's not going to happen, it's not. So you can forget about that. As far as holding the Obama administration accountable for corruption, possible in the upcoming Justice Department investigation on Russian collusion. Probably not, though, they're probably going to hone in on the FBI. Now, if the FBI guys flip and say, hey, the Obama administration told me to do it, then you got another thing. But no, I don't believe that 16 was the most important election in our lifetime. This one is, because clearly the radical left is controlling the Democratic Party, which he did not in 2016, it does now. If they win, if Nancy Pelosi and her forces hold the House, it's going to tell you a lot about your country and that is why I'm going to devote all my energies to honest reporting and analysis of the election.
Jason.
"How did Pete Buttigieg do as mayor in Indiana? Can we trust him?".
It is up to you. He ran South Bend, a small town efficiently, but alienated African-Americans that lived there. All right, I can't really get into it any further than that because I haven't done the research necessary at this point. If he becomes the nominee, I will, but, you know, he ran the town, but it's a little town.
Adam.
"Out of the candidates, who do you think would give Donald Trump the best run for his money in one on one debate?"
Buttigieg. I think Buttigieg would be the toughest debater for Trump.
James.
"Congrats on your success on the radio. Did you expect to make it on this many stations within a year? I listen all the time. Keep it up.".
James, I really appreciate it, not only listening, but writing on the message board. We do post every day, The OReilly Update on our site, so that if you don't get it or miss it in your town, you can hear it here. I did not expect to have more than 200 radio stations in less than a year. Remember, we launched this on April Fool's Day, a little irony there. All right. Two thousand nineteen. It has only been nine months and we're flying, already making a lot of money for our syndicator and the sponsors. Did I anticipate? I am a pretty confident guy. I didn't know we were gonna get more than two hundred and nine months, but this time next year I think we'll have close to 400 stations. It's really a good format, it's boom, boom, boom, here's what it is. Starting next Monday, January 6, I'll be doing a morning, two minute morning commentary on all, not all our affiliates, but a lot of them. So we're expanding The OReilly Update to the morning's. Thanks again, James, for asking the question.
Edward, Concierge Member.
"It's astounding that a number of Jewish people are attacking President Trump. Does he have any fault for the violent attacks?".
No. President Trump's been a friend to Jewish Americans and Jewish people all over the world. But, you know, they're going to attack Trump on everything and anything. It's dishonest, but what are you gonna do?
Anne. Concierges Member.
"I wonder if someone sucker punched Mayor de Blasio, would they be released without bail?".
You know, I hope that doesn't happen, Anne. I don't want any violence to come to Mayor de Blasio, but we have anarchy in New York City now, thanks to him.
Dorcas, Concierge Member.
"As a former foster parent. I know the devastating effects that parental drug abuse has on children. Unfortunately, an eventual legalization marijuana across the country and opposed decriminalization of all drugs, only serves to place more children in foster care and lead to more homeless.".
Yes, absolutely right, Dorcas. Your analysis is 100 percent correct. They don't care about the kids.
Marsha.
"Bill, on the subject of Jesus's birth as a refugee, a Christian church in the USA displayed a nativity scene that featured Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus surrounded by a cage. The story they were portraying was that the family were refugees who sought shelter but were put in a cage.".
I know, I saw it. That's called liberation theology, Marcia. Where they blend theology, faith, belief system with politics. I don't think that's a good idea.
Janna McCann. Shelton, Connecticut.
"Christmas Day, I gave my brother a Concierge Membership to BillOReilly.com.".
Excellent.
"Also, a copy of the United States Drop. You love them when he opened a gift certificate for the members should be said, thanks, Janet, I listened him on Beck every Friday. It would be great to see him every night."
Got it. Very nice gift to your brother and a sister you are. Denise Gilbert. Kansas City, Missouri.
"I thank you for posting Holly's tweets on BillOReilly.com. I really enjoy them and I do not have a Twitter account. I also enjoyed the resolutions for the politicians in your column. I laughed so hard. Thank you.".
Denise, I don't blame you for not having a Twitter account. It is a destructive mechanism, even though I use it and because I can get my message out quickly and in that way, it's very positive. So it's good and bad. All right. So Twitter is good because individuals can put out positive messages. But there are so many bad people using Twitter to harm other people and you know, so if I didn't have to do this, I wouldn't use Twitter, but I do. But Holly, you know, is a big star. Again, she'll be on Discovery Channel, Saturday, January 4th, 8:00 a.m..
Melissa Taylor. Woody Creek, Colorado. I believe Woody Creek is where Hunter Thompson lived outside of Aspen. Right?
"Bill, we gave the United States of Trump to our landlord. She finished reading it in two days. Sent us a nice note, said the book is riveting. She learned a few things she did not know and helped bring balance to some other perspective.".
Good, Melissa. I mean, you know, United States of Trump, in this election year, if you haven't read it or know people who haven't read it, you know, that's important. It really is an important book for this year.
Thomas Howard Rowley. Panama City, Florida.
"Hope you and urchins and Holly had a relaxing and pleasant holiday. Thanks for making us aware of the IndependenceFund.org. I just send them a nice donation.".
You know, we do what we can for our disabled vets. It's a great charity, IndependenceFund.org. Thomas, you're a patriot. Thank you. Guy in Illinois.
"I just read the column after watching the No Spin News. It's late in the evening, but I may have trouble falling asleep because I'm laughing so much. I can't think of another writer as entertaining and instructive as you, Bill.".
Well, thank you, Guy. I appreciate that. The column is on my suggested New Year's resolutions to some powerful people in this country. On the message board, Ron.
"Best column of the year. Concise, truthful and funny. Bill, you're the best. We need you.".
I'm here. I am here, I hope for a while. Okay, Killing Crazy Horse, my new Killing book, the ninth in a series, out May 12th. You can preorder. As I said, all of our stuff is marked down in the BillOReilly.com, including the books. When writing to us, you get 40 percent off the books. Hey, 40 percent? Nobody told me that. 40 percent of any of the books. Word of the day, do not be a blatherskite, one word. Blatherskite, blatherskite when writing to us. Another quick break. Final Thought about cell phones, the pope and me. Right back.
If you are over the age of 50, I have an important message for you. There is a true alternative to AARP, the Liberal Retirement Group that lobbies in favor of progressive policies. For less than 20 dollars a year, an AMAC membership gives you members only pricing on car insurance, roadside assistance, discounts on hotels and travel, cell phone plans, discount dental plans and on and on and on and on. So please join more than one million fellow Americans right now at AMAC.us. That's AMAC.us and yes, I am a member. Visit AMAC.us. AMAC.us.
All right. So Pope Francis, as I said, I'm watching the "Two Popes" movie on Netflix, and it's Pope Benedict and Pope Francis going back and forth. Very entertaining movie. He said on Sunday from the Vatican, that Jesus, Mary and Joseph prayed, worked and communicated with each other, which is true. If you read my book, Killing Jesus, which I think is the best account of Jesus as a man, you would see that. So then he said, quote, "I asked myself if you and your family know how to communicate or are you like those kids at meal tables where everybody's chatting on their mobile phone?".
So I have a rule, no phones unless it's an emergency or you gotta know something at mealtime. You can't have it. I know I'm a fascist, I know. Okay, but can't have the phones and even more than that, I monitored the phones. All right. So, I understand all of the social life for the urchins are on the phone now. They don't talk on the telephone and text, text, text, I got it. For me, information, I got to have it. It's there instantaneously. So, I'm guilty of picking that phone up too. But never at mealtime, and then I throw our questions to the urchins. All right. What do you think about this? What do you think about that? That kind of stuff. I had one of them say the other night, I don't want to think during dinner. I say you have no choice, unless you want to starve.
As for Pope Francis himself, he is a liberation theology guy. He lives in a world where religion, Christianity and Catholicism are there to improve the plight of the poor. You must understand where he is coming from, that is his mission, the poor, help the poor, the downtrodden, the incarcerated, the migrants, help them, help them, help them, help them. It does not go against Christianity, it does not. The only problem with Pope Francis is he gets into trouble when his solutions make the poverty and migrant problem worse and hurt good minded people, which he has done. The pope has done that. Remember when the pope spouts a political opinion that has nothing to do with theology, he's not infallible. It's not dogma. It's not any of that. It is just his opinion as an Argentinean cleric, which is what he is. I like him. I think he's a sincere man. I think he tries to help people and that's my bottom line for pope. I don't need Winston Churchill in there.
That's the Final Thought. I want you to have a great New Year, safe. All right. A lot of games, a lot of, you know, moderation, of course, but have a good time. I'll be checking in throughout the weekend. Remember, tell your friends, your family starting on New Year's Day, they can access this podcast and the one yesterday to see what we're doing here. Very important, I think, for Americans to get a fair coverage of this vital upcoming election. Happy New Year.
