It was almost impossible to find media coverage this morning of two bills on the floor of the House:  Kate's Law and denying some federal money to Sanctuary Cities.

 

The reason is ideology.  The leftist national media understands that most Americans do not want dangerous felons in this country illegally, but that terrible situation, which directly led to the murder of Kate Steinle, is not important to them.  No, the so called "immigrant community" must not be scrutinized no matter what.

 

Therefore punishing foreign criminals who defy deportation, that is come back after they've been kicked out, is not important to the progressive left, which sees no evil when it comes to immigration.

 

Any Congressperson who votes against Kate's Law is unfit to hold office.  If you don't want to protect the citizenry, get out!

 

On the Sanctuary City bill to withhold some federal funding from areas that will not hold alien criminals so ICE can pick those people up, the vote will be along party lines.  Democrats in general support anarchy in the immigration arena hiding behind the theory of "comprehensive immigration reform" which is code for amnesty and lax border enforcement.

 

Both bills will pass the House, I believe, but you'll need a microscope to find coverage of it.
