Even though Joe Biden thinks he's woke, he's not. Approaching 80 years on the planet, the President is firmly rooted in the 1960's "back when a smoke was a smoke, and groovin' was groovin'", to quote Mellencamp.
So, on St. Patrick's Day, old Joe was spinning some blarney and said "I may be Irish, but I'm not stupid". He was referring to an Irish aside, not denigrating his ancestry.
Nevertheless, there was faux outrage just as there was when President Trump said anything at all. We live in a county where getting offended will soon become a Ph.D. program.
Simply put, Joe Biden doesn't understand what the deuce is happening in America and neither do many folks over the age of 50. We are living in an age where "snowflakes" surround us - and I'm not talking frozen water.
I was not bothered by Biden's silly statement. I'm much more offended when he blames Putin for high gas prices.
And while we're on the subject of gas, the President might consider verbal rehab. Just speak the truth, Joe, no joke. And leave the witticisms to Jen.
