CNN correspondent Clarissa Ward is a brave woman and, in the past, has been a fair reporter, not indoctrinated by the very liberal culture at her network.

However, Ms. Ward made a major mistake in judgment this week by appearing on Stephen Colbert’s late-night program.  Mr. Colbert, as you may know, is no longer an entertainer.  He has transformed himself into a zealot, devoted to despising everything Trump. It’s tedious, but there is a small audience for propaganda before bedtime.

Ms. Ward was in Iraq as she spoke with Colbert and her take on the military action against Iran was negative. Not a surprise. Colbert does not book guests who are supportive of the Trump administration in any way.

The CNN reporter lamented the “inhumanity” of the conflict, citing the usual criticisms: no timetable to stop fighting, the suffering of the Iranian people, world insecurity.

Colbert lapped up the red meat like a German Shepherd.

Clarissa Ward has no excuse for her one-sided presentation.  For those of us who respect fair reporting and analysis, she has dropped more than a few pegs.  Trust is earned.
