TRUMP MOCKS WARREN AS ‘POCAHONTAS’ AT NAVAJO VETERANS’ EVENT

On Monday, Trump honored the Native American veterans at the White House. Very heroic, very good story. However, in that ceremony, Trump, as he is one to do, injected personal politics by saying, “You were here long before any of us were here. Although we have a representative in Congress who they say was here a long time ago. They call her Pocahontas. But you know what? I like you.”

Pocahontas became a Native American symbol in the early settling days. Now, what Trump was doing was mocking Elizabeth Warren, was it inappropriate? Yes. I wouldn’t have done that. However, it was not a racial slur. He was mocking Elizabeth Warren’s resume, which Trump and others believe is false.

After making the crack, Trump turned to one of the Navajo veterans, who served in World War II and went on to say “I like you. Because you are special. You are special people, you are really incredible people."

He spoke under the watchful eye of a portrait of President Andrew Jackson, known for his forceful removals of Native Americans from their ancestral lands.

Moments later, Warren fired back. "Donald Trump does this over and over thinking somehow he's going to shut me up with it," Warren said on MSNBC. "It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States cannot even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without having to throw out a racial slur," she added.

So, what we have here are the PC police who are deciding for the rest of the nation what a slur is.

SENATE BUDGET COMMITTEE APPROVES TAX BILL

President Donald Trump’s push for a big package of tax cuts moved past a potential obstacle on Tuesday as the Senate Budget Committee approved the measure despite lingering concerns from some Republican members.

The Senate vote could happen as early as Wednesday and would give Republicans powerful momentum for their top legislative priority.

But Republican leaders said they have yet to round up the votes needed for passage in the Senate, where they hold a narrow 52-48 majority and they need 50 votes for the tax bill to pass. Most Republicans will vote for this because they know that everything, the party, the presidency, congress, is on the line.

“It’s a challenging exercise,” Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said at a news conference. “Think of sitting there with a Rubik’s cube.”

I think Democrats should give it a chance since they don’t have any tax reform bill at all and if they don’t like it in 2 years they won’t have a Republican congress if it fails.

GEORGE SOROS DONATES $18 BILLION TO HIS OWN FOUNDATIONS

George Soros has taken advantage of the old tax code and I’m not sure if this will change under the new tax plan, but it should.

George Soros has donated $18 billion of his fortune to the Open Society Foundations which is a private charity that he controls.

Soros doesn’t have to pay a capital gains tax because he never sold the stock, which is how he gifted most of the money to Open Society.  He also doesn’t have to pay an estate tax on the $18 billion because that money goes into the foundation, which is run by his children. So, his 5 children can live the rest of their lives on salaries from the foundation because the foundation can employ family members at six-figure salaries for life. Thus, the money can be kept by the Soros family almost forever. Since George Soros is the Board of Directors, he can also do whatever he wants with that $18 billion.

In addition to dodging the estate tax and capital gains tax, Soros gets a 20% bonus write-off of the appreciated stock since the $18 billion is considered a charitable donation. Now, Open Society is not a charity, but it is listed as such, and they’re tax exempt.

Once Republicans get the tax reform bill passed they need to fix this loophole.

POLL SHOWS AMERICANS CONSIDER TEXTING MORE DANGEROUS THAN MARIJUANA WHILE DRIVING

A new survey released Tuesday conducted by Harris Poll found that while the vast majority of Americans believe driving under the influence of marijuana is dangerous, an overwhelming percentage consider texting while behind the wheel even more of a problem.

91 percent of Americans believe driving while under the influence of marijuana is dangerous.

87 percent believe people who do so pose a danger to others on the road. 40 percent of respondents believe driving while high is a contributing factor to more motor vehicle accidents, according to the survey.

More Americans think using social media (99 percent) and texting (98 percent) while driving is more dangerous than driving under the influence of marijuana (91 percent).

Of those on the road, drivers aged 18 to 34 are the most likely to drive under the influence of marijuana (6 percent)

A survey by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2013 to 2014 also found a drastic increase in the number of drivers under the influence of marijuana.

The survey found a large increase in the proportion of weekend nighttime drivers testing positive for marijuana or other illegal drugs compared with the 2007 survey, which was the first one to screen for drug use.

About 1 in 5 weekend nighttime drivers tested positive for at least one legal or illegal drug, NHTSA reports.

Marijuana showed the greatest increase in prevalence among illegal drugs. The percentage of weekend nighttime drivers testing positive for marijuana use increased from 8.6 percent in 2007 to 12.6 percent in 2013-14.

BLACK LIVES MATTER LAUNCHES XMAS INITIATIVE

A Black Lives Matter chapter is launching a “Black Xmas” initiative to urge people to buy from black owned businesses during the holidays to “resist white capitalism.”

Black Lives Matter Los Angeles called on people to refuse to buy from white owned businesses and take that money to invest in the black community from Nov. 25 to Jan. 1. 2018.

BLM launched a Black Xmas website on Saturday which calls for “no spending with White corporations” through New Year’s Day, encouraging supporters to donate to allied, black-led community groups or black-owned businesses instead.

The boycott serves as an attempt to resist President Donald Trump and his ties to white capitalism, the group added.

“Donald Trump embodies White capitalism. If you are anti-Trump, you should hold back your resources from him and the like,” the organization said on its website.

California State University-Los Angeles professor and Black Lives Matter activist Melina Abdullah is behind the idea for a “Black Xmas”

Abdullah has stated: “We say ‘white capitalism’ because it’s important that we understand that the economic system and the racial structures are connected. We have to not only disrupt the systems of policing that literally kill our people, but we have to disrupt the white supremacist, capitalistic, patriarchal, heteronormative system that is really the root cause of these police killings.”

If you’re black, you’re not supposed to buy anything from someone who is white? Is that not racist? I think it is.

MAIL TIME!

  • Bill, Help me out here! You and many other commentators have stated President Trump is done if the tax cut bill does not pass. Why would you not consider that the senate may be held accountable for not passing it?
  • You have said repeatedly that if President Trump doesn't get this tax plan approved, he won't get re-elected in 2020. Why would any Democrat vote for it knowing this?
  • Enjoyed your commentary very much tonight. I am so glad someone has the courage to tell the truth about President Obama's 8 years in office and the unbelievable disaster he left for today's president from the economy.
