Just back from Europe where I celebrated the Fourth among people who don’t care a whit about it.  No, I’m not talking about radical left Americans, I’m referring to working people in Germany and Austria.

I hired a guide who explained how the economic system in Germany works.  You work 37 hours a week, you pay taxes - high taxes.  And government run health care is NOT free for workers.  Using a deft slight of hand, the German government makes the people pay about 12 percent of their salaries a year for single-payer health care.  That’s on top of federal income tax, local taxes and 19 percent VAT (value added tax on just about everything you buy).    

That’s the system the democrats really want in America but will not yet openly say.  The ramifications of the German model are staggering.  They are discussed in my just posted weekly column.  I hope you read it.
