As predicted here, the Speaker issue has been resolved, but not without some blood. With the Democratic leadership now almost completely progressive, Republicans are the only ones who can stop future bleeding to stay on the fluid imagery.

Congressmen Gaetz and his staunch rightwing conservative crew succeeded in booting Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership, but what did that really accomplish? Gaetz has to know that reform cannot happen unless a few Democrats are persuaded. Apparently, the Matt-meister doesn't much care about that.

Going forward, I have no blankin' idea how Louisiana congressman Mike Johnson will handle his new job. If he's more successful than McCarthy, I will apologize to Congressman Gaetz.

But the truth is that Washington remains a sanctuary for far-left politicians bent on destroying American traditions. That's what the open border is really all about.

So, the Republicans better start selling their philosophy and knock off the divisive stuff.
