Humor is a Tough Business
June 28, 2021

Today is Mr. Mel Brooks’ 95th birthday and I think he’s one of the funniest people on the planet. Humor is not an easy business. Think about it for a minute. How many folks can make you laugh out loud? For me, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, Rodney Dangerfield, and Madeline Kahn could do it.

But Mel Brooks could get you laughing for an entire movie. The Producers, in my opinion, his best. Mocking the Nazis is almost impossible. Brooks did it with wicked insight.

Ironically, if Mel Brooks were starting out today, the cancel culture would likely cancel him before he even got started. That’s where we are in this country.

So Happy Birthday, Mel. You’ve brought joy and relief to the world. Too bad you can’t really be the 2000 Thousand Year Old Man.

Tonight on the No Spin News, the real reason many people fail in America. See you beginning at six eastern.
