Congratulate me, I made it through the entire weekend without once watching cable or network news. I simply could not stand to do it.

The reason is agendas. Each program has one. When I ran The Factor there was no agenda - it was a true no spin zone. We booked guests based upon the information they possessed or if I wanted the audience to see a specific point-of-view challenged. That was a winning formula that does not exist any longer.

Now, the chat shows load up the partisans. Do I really want to hear Carl Bernstein, a Trump hater, convict the President of felonies? Do I want to listen to commentators working for NBC speculate about impeachment? Do I want to hear loathsome statements from Kirsten Powers that everyone who voted for Donald Trump is a racist?

No on all counts.

I mean, I have better things to do and so does everybody.
