The ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin who is being tried for the murder of George Floyd is facing two charges, second degree murder and manslaughter. Should Chauvin only be convicted on the lesser charge, Minneapolis and possibly the rest of the country could erupt into violent riots.
