The conversation with Bernie Goldberg yesterday on the No Spin News broadcast was especially instructive.  Bernie is no fan of President Trump or those Americans who blindly follow him.  But during the talk, he ceded that Mr. Trump has been treated unfairly by the media from the beginning of his tenure and there's been no letup in the attacks. 

That kind of hate-filled atmosphere, embraced by the press, has led to a series of errors by the President.  But now with General Kelly essentially running the White House, Mr. Trump has an even chance to accomplish what his supporters want him to do. 

When I presented my case that Donald Trump is signaling that he is willing to change his free-wheeling style with the Kelly appointment, Bernie considered the point.  He also acknowledged that the media will not give Mr. Trump a fair shake no matter what he does. 

Americans have a perfect right not to approve of Donald Trump or any other politician.  Certainly, many citizens have disdain for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  But rooting for the destruction of our nation's leaders is unhealthy and, I believe, un-American.

And that's what most in the national media are doing right now with Donald Trump.
