The United States is a Divided Nation
February 20, 2021

I keep thinking about President Biden's statement last Tuesday that we are not a divided country. Now, I chalk this up to Joe Biden being a politician.

He can't possibly believe what he said. He's trying to put forth a message that, 'I, Joe Biden, as President, I don't think it is that bad and I'm going to bring everybody together.'

But it's just balderdash - word of the day. We are as divided a nation as we were back in the run up to the Civil War.

So, if you know your history for two decades, the United States was bitterly opposed to one another. The South, for economic reasons, wanted to keep slavery. They didn't regard slaves as human beings, many of the Southerners did not do that. And the North was appalled, the abolition movement was appalled. Look, these are human beings, you cannot diminish them, enslave them, brutalize them. How polarizing is that? And it resulted in a war. Don't let anybody tell you the war was about tariffs or anything like that. This war was about human beings being enslaved and millions of people were killed or wounded in the war.

But now with the progressives trying to break down traditional America, now we are as divided as I have ever seen in my lifetime.
