Reducing Your Frustration
October 27, 2020

My house is about 100 years old. Recently, things have been breaking all over the place – I have to call a bunch of repair guys.

Whenever I call the repair guys, they never tell me when they’re going to show up – they give me a window of 18 hours.

Many of these repair guys can see that I don’t know anything – I’m not a home improvement guy. Once they notice that, I think they add some extra money to the bill just to get me.

If that’s not frustrating enough, with all these repairs going on, I’m busy. It’s not like I can putter around – I’m busy all the time.

When I get too frustrated, I try to remain calm with the Eastern Zen I’ve told you all about. Part of that Zen is taking on a fatalistic attitude.

The fatalistic attitude is key to staying calm – if it’s not your fault or it's out of your control, don’t stress about it. Just do it.
