Wednesday: Live Factor from the RNC in Cleveland
The Presidential Race and Race in America
Guests: Eric Bolling
Tonight The Factor will come to you live from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. First up: Talking Points. According to the polls, Donald Trump is dominating among white male voters but not doing that well in the black and Hispanic precincts. Because of that, he'll have to turn out the white vote in great numbers if he wants to win in November. Of course, Mrs. Clinton is trying to counter this stimulating support in minority communities across the country. Tonight we'll explain the racial factor to this election and how it'll affect each candidate.
Reaction to Laura Ingraham Speech
The Factor cut away live to Laura Ingraham as she was addressing the convention. "I'm here tonight supporting Donald Trump," Ingraham informed the crowd, "because I refuse to leave my kids a country that is worse off than the one my parents left me." She also spoke movingly about the value of work and her hardscrabble upbringing in Connecticut, where her Polish immigrant grandparents set out to achieve the American dream.

Back in the Cleveland studio, FNC's Monica Crowley and Eboni Williams analyzed Ingraham's message and the convention itself. "The most important theme hit by Laura tonight," Crowley said, "is the breakdown of respect for authority at all levels. That is a critical point and that is part of Donald Trump's greatest attraction when he says he is the 'law and order' candidate." Williams praised Ingraham for stressing tradition and American exceptionalism. "Her message was very populist and that's what Donald Trump has really drilled home. Laura's speech was very well received." The Factor reminded viewers that Laura Ingraham has been one of Trump's most reliable supporters: "Laura was one of the first media people to get on the 'Trump train.' She was saying that traditional values have collapsed and this crowd doesn't want that."
Update on Cleveland Protests
The Factor spoke with Geraldo Rivera about the atmosphere outside the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. "I'm at a public square in downtown Cleveland," Rivera reported, "which was supposed to be the epicenter of the clash of civilizations. But it's a very peaceful crowd and the cops have done a terrific job. There are 19 state law enforcement agencies here in Cleveland and there have only been 22 arrests since the convention began. I think the murders of those five police officers in Dallas and the three officers in Baton Rouge have really cast a pall over the Black Lives Matter movement and the anti-police activists." The Factor concurred, saying, "The terrible assassinations have tamped down the hatred of police, which is being rejected."
Miller Analyzes the Republican Convention
Dennis Miller, who has been watching the convention from the friendly confines of his California living room, opined on the proceedings. "Chris Christie did that fake courtroom thing so beautifully," Miller said, "that he should quit politics and get a syndicated courtroom show like Judge Judy. He can call it 'Judge Jolly,' where he just sits there with a chicken leg and rules on things. I'm glad John Kasich isn't there because he reminds us that there is a difference between an everyman and a very small man. As for Melania, I'm just glad she didn't crib from Michelle Obama saying, 'For the first time in my life I'm proud of my country.' And Rudy was so pissed off that I thought he should be in charge of all immigration."
Watters' World: The Demonstrators Speak Out
Even though the predicted mass unrest in Cleveland has not materialized, Jesse Watters sought out and found a few disgruntled protesters. Here's what they had to say: "I am here protesting Donald Trump becoming president" ... "Donald Trump is making a mockery of Americans" ... "We're out here protesting the general Republican platform, trans lives matter" ... "I'm protesting the growing fascism in this country and the police lynching of black people" ... "Donald Trump is straight evil."
A Look at the Convention with Chris Wallace
The Factor asked Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace to evaluate the Republican National Convention thus far. "I'd give it a 'B,'" Wallace declared. "They have done part of what they need to do, which is to make the case against Hillary Clinton and try to unite a party that is still divided. But I think they have failed so far in making the case to people who aren't Republicans. Donald Trump is deeply underwater among minorities and young people and women, he has to give them a reason to change their minds and vote for him. He will have about an hour Thursday to convince the persuadable voters that he would be a credible president." The Factor concluded "Surrogates don't matter this year, vice presidential candidates don't matter, nothing matters other than Trump and Clinton."
Farewell to an Entertainment Genius
Garry Marshall, who produced some of the most memorable TV programs and movies in history, including 'Happy Days,' 'Laverne and Shirley,' and 'Pretty Woman,' has died at age 81. Marshall took full advantage of his abundant talent, something all of us can do as well.
