"Many of the Democrats running for president will speak at the DailyKos convention next week. That is a major mistake. While all of those Democrats lean left, most are not far left, but the Kos is. Here are some of the things the far left wants: a cut-and-run strategy in Iraq, which would leave the Middle East in chaos; higher taxes in the USA, which would pay for entitlements like socialized medicine; the redistribution of wealth in America; and the abolition of tough anti-terror measures. The far left wants a quasi-socialistic economy and a one-world foreign policy, where national security decisions are made only with the approval of other countries. And don't forget the open border policies of the radical left. So that's the soup the Democratic presidential candidates will be dining on when they show up at the Kos convention. Moderate Democrats and conservatives want no part of it, and most independents reject the radical agenda as well. So why are the candidates pandering to this far-left bunch? I don't know."
The Factor welcomed Howard Wolfson, a top adviser to Hillary Clinton, who defended his boss's decision to appear at the Kos convention. "Bill, I think it's unfortunate," Wolfson began, "that you have cherry-picked some comments on the DailyKos site and have decided to smear an entire community of people. The days where you can dictate where Senator Clinton and other Democrats go are over." The Factor took a moment to read some of the more vile postings that have appeared on the DailyKos: "Hillary 'George Wallace' Clinton, f _ _ _ you ... We're looking at President George W. Bush with breasts ... Hillary got stains on her dress, too?" Wolfson reiterated his view that hateful comments are rare on the site. "The Daily Kos is primarily hundreds of thousands of good American citizens who are participating in our democracy. We're not going to let you determine who we talk to." The Factor predicted that Senator Clinton will pay a price for attending the convention. "You're making an enormous mistake because independent voters will decide the election. Every respectable blog in the country does not permit this hatred. Kos traffics in it, and you're pandering to these people."

21-year old Lindsay Lohan has again been arrested, this on DUI and cocaine charges. Psychologist Cooper Lawrence tried her best to analyze Lohan's erratic behavior. "She's narcissistic and thinks the rules don't apply to her. The underlying issues of why she's so self-destructive are not being addressed. She needs full time therapy, not just a couple of days in rehab." FNC's Jill Dobson pointed out that Lohan's career is in serious jeopardy. "There's a very real possibility that her upcoming movie will be canceled because the insurance company can't afford her with all her problems. She's a talented actress, but her career is going down the drain." The Factor added that Lohan seems bent on self-destruction. "No one behaves in this manner unless they want to harm themselves. I think this woman - unless diverted - is going to wind up dead, and I don't think she cares."

In the Connecticut suburb of Cheshire, 48-year old Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters were brutally murdered at their home by career criminals Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes, both of whom were out on parole. Lawyer Kimberly Lerner contended that the accused killers should not have been out on the street. "One of these guys was convicted of at least 10 felony burglaries. I want to know why they don't they have devices on their legs, and why aren't people monitoring them? These are animals, these are predators, and this is going to be a death penalty case." The Factor denounced the judges who gave the thugs light sentences. "Judges here feel that a burglary isn't that serious, even if you do it ten times. This is so sickening, and it is the system's fault."

In another baffling case, Lyndon Scott was twice arrested for violent crimes, but Massachusetts Judge Peter Anderson released him on $250 bail. Defense attorney Ed Ryan defended the bail as appropriate. "This judge did exactly what he was required to do in this case. If the prosecutor wanted this individual held, all he had to do was ask for a 'dangerousness hearing.' You can't blame the judge for what the district attorney doesn't do." But The Factor wasn't about to let Judge Anderson off the hook. "The judge has the power to give any bail he wants. This is a lenient judge who doesn't care about protecting the public. Everybody's outraged except you."

The Factor welcomed legal experts Sunny Hostin and Lis Wiehl, who both recommended jail time for Lindsay Lohan. "People who drink and drive," Hostin said, "are four times more likely to kill someone. I would give her at least a year." Next on the docket, the case of Brittany Pitts, who is suing the "Girls Gone Wild" video makers for taping her bare-breasted when she was just 16. "She absolutely has a case," Wiehl declared, "because even if she signed a consent, she could not legally sign any contract." Finally, the legal experts turned to Californian Ron Garber, who has been ordered to pay alimony to his former wife, even though she is a lesbian is in a committed relationship with another woman. "He should not have to continue paying," Hostin pronounced. "She's done everything she can do to assert that she is re-married." Taking the other side, Wiehl argued that the law is clear. "She is not legally married. If they were allowed to get married, I would agree with you, but this is not an official marriage."

Body language expert Tonya Reiman provided her weekly analysis of people in the news, beginning with Hillary Clinton lauding her husband's presidency. "She shakes here head when she talks about her husband's legacy," Reiman said. "My impression is that she was shaking her head because maybe there's something about those years that she doesn't like to remember." Next, Reiman turned to singer John Mellencamp, who argued that America should not retaliate against a terror attack. "He was really comfortable. He's leaning forward, his legs are spread open, and he's completely at ease." Finally, Reiman watched tape of Lindsay Lohan just prior to her 21st birthday. "She was very childlike and playful, but also a little cocky. There are all kinds of coy gestures, but at the same time she's saying I'm going to do what I want to do." |
Your e-mails covered a variety of current topics. Some excerpts:
Ron Fillmore, Centerville, TX: "Good grief, Bill. I just watched two Democrats dance all over the place about how to deal with al Qaeda. They fault Bush, who deserves such, but have no clue themselves."
Al Chiarpotti, Hot Springs, AR: "Greta was right when she said the Judge who dismissed the case against the man who allegedly raped a 7-year old had no choice. It was the prosecutor's fault and Greta didn't let you intimidate her, O'Reilly."
Morgan Marshall, Kendallville, IN: "I can't believe there is another accused child rapist on the street. I'm 16 and am afraid to leave the house."
Kenneth Ramson, Riverton, CT: "New Haven mayor DeStefano is irresponsible in issuing illegal aliens ID cards. Bill, you should have pointed out that violence and crime is way up in his city."
Frank Baldino, New Haven, CT: "Yale University has been using this town as a social justice laboratory for years. You can bet the school was behind the ID cards." |
