"San Francisco is run by far-left secular progressives who despise the military, traditional values and religion. Last Sunday at the Catholic Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Archbishop George Niederauer was celebrating mass. Two gay militants in bizarre dress took communion in an attempt to mock the mass and the man. The people who did this are members of a militant homosexual group that runs around San Francisco dressed as nuns. City officials are aware of the group because in the past they have publicly demeaned Christianity. The fault here lies with the leadership of San Francisco. Mayor Gavin Newsom has consistently avoided criticizing behavior that is harmful - he hides under his desk and attacks messengers like me. Incredibly, the San Francisco media has blacked out the story. If a mosque had been attacked like this, if a synagogue had been defiled, this would have been page 1 in the San Francisco Chronicle and every liberal newspaper in the country. Instead, there is no reporting on the violation of a church service by those militants. Talking Points believes all Americans should take a very hard look at what's happening in San Francisco. Enough is enough! Desecrating a Catholic mass or any other religious service is unacceptable in the United States of America."
The Factor's outrage was echoed by Catholic theologian Anthony Gonzales. "At the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco," Gonzales reported, "people were selling sex toys in the representation of Catholic saints and Jesus Christ. This was being sold while naked sex acts were taking place on the streets. This kind of behavior gets no response whatsoever from the city government or the police." But San Francisco Chronicle columnist Debra Saunders downplayed the importance of the church stunt. "They went there to mock the church, but the word 'invasion' is not the right word. They're hecklers. This just isn't that big a story." The Factor disputed Saunders' interpretation. "These people invaded private property with the express intent of insulting the people and desecrating the service. And you're saying it's okay? This is a huge story, Debra, and they buried it because it reflects poorly on the city of San Francisco. That city is a disgrace on every level!"

Radio host Laura Ingraham entered the No Spin Zone with her take on Al Gore's newly-minted Nobel Peace Prize. "Al Gore came at this with a political perspective," Ingraham said. "A British high court has ruled that his apocalyptic vision of global warming just doesn't meet up with the facts. And even if man is contributing to global warming, Gore has not put forward a common sense approach that would not cripple the U.S. economy." But The Factor defended Gore's obvious commitment. "I'm glad he won the Nobel Peace Prize, I think he's doing a good job on global warming. I don't know if warming is man-made or not, but the planet is better if it's cleaner."

During a film shoot in Indonesia, a giant python attacked and bit television host Brady Barr, who described his wounds. "Pythons have over 100 needle-sharp teeth,, Barr told The Factor, "and when they sink those into your flesh you feel it. I had some gaping open wounds, just a horrific injury, and infection was the real danger. But we caught dozens of giant pythons and this was the only accident on the mission." The Factor urged Barr to exercise caution. "You know there's a fairly good chance you'll be attacked and injured. It's dramatic footage and people will watch the program, but look at what happened to Steve Irwin. Take it easy out there."

| The Factor replayed a few of Dennis Miller's choicest observations. This was Miller on "The Bourne Ultimatum," a movie filled with anti-Americanism. "If they were doing a true depiction of our CIA, they would not show them being evil and conniving, they would have to show them being inept." Miller on left-leaning comic Bill Maher: "Maher is a brilliant man and he really loathes Bush. He's one of those guys who is more concerned about global warming than he is about the war on terror. He'll sign on to war in Iraq when we invent 'green' weaponry." Finally, Miller expressed concern for Britney Spears. "I'll be honest with you, that girl looks like she's right at the brink. It looks so dangerous to me that I hope somebody steps in. It's not as important as the war, but a human life is important." |
Geraldo Rivera joined The Factor and opined on the lawsuit against Rita Cosby, who is being sued for $60 million for alleging that Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead - both of whom claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter - were gay lovers. "She's got a difficult case ahead of her," Rivera began, "but I don't think it's a slam dunk for Howard K. Stern by any means. A nanny named Nadine said she saw Anna Nicole Smith watching a tape of Stern and Birkhead having sex, so how can you prove that Rita Cosby is guilty of malice?" Rivera also commented on police raids at the offices of Drs. Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor, who prescribed drugs for Smith shortly before her death. "I am still curious to see who's going to be indicted for this wanton and reckless prescribing of these narcotics and dangerous drugs. A licensed physician prostitutes himself or herself to help an addict who is then enabled by the loved ones around her You're going to see wrongful death actions."

| The Factor welcomed the week's "TV Icon," Patrick Duffy, who played Bobby Ewing on the hit show "Dallas" for 13 years. Duffy recalled the program's immense success and its effect on him. "Larry Hagman was the central point around which all the attention went. The rest of us got the advantages of stardom without the incredible scrutiny of the press." Duffy added that the entertainment media has become more suffocating in recent years, saying "the mania has increased." |
Friday's Patriot: 29-year old Lieutenant Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who was killed in Afghanistan and will receive the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military honor. And the Pinhead: Snoop Dogg, who now has 11 arrests, most recently a weapons charge. Mr. Dogg will have to perform 160 hours of community service, including picking up garbage. As The Factor pointed out, "since he is very familiar with trash, it shouldn't be much of a problem."

Viewers wrote about Don Imus' impending return to radio and CNN's softball interview with Jimmy Carter. Some excerpts:
Carl McClaren, Haines City, FL: "Bill, please explain why Don Imus should not be allowed to work because of his racial comments, but Syracuse University professor Boyce Watkins continues working despite calling Juan Williams a happy Negro?"
Richard Bloom, Hooksett, NH: "I don't understand why the apology Don Imus made is not good enough. I believe the Association of Black Journalists is now making Imus look like a hero."
Karen Tigelaar, Ontario, Canada: "Why did Wolf Blitzer go easy on Jimmy Carter? Because he loved every moment of Carter's dishonest rambling."
Steve Minette, Kalispell, MT: "It is obvious Mr. Blitzer is hoping for Larry King's job." |
