"For eight years, the brutal murder of Washington intern Chandra Levy remained a mystery shrouded by scandal, but now the crime may be solved. According to the Washington Post, authorities believe 27-year old Salvadoran illegal alien Ingmar Guandique murdered Chandra Levy. There are a number of things in play here. A few days after allegedly killing Chandra, Guandique was arrested and charged with burglary, but a hearing commissioner released him and ICE was not called. That is typical of sanctuary cities, and the illegal alien then went on to assault at least two other women. The Post has done a good job, but the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Associated Press and the network news programs all neglected to report that Guandique is an illegal alien, yet another example of blatant press dishonesty. According to federal data, about a half-million serious crimes have been committed by illegal aliens over the past ten years. Both political parties are at fault, as are the pro-amnesty media. A fair and humane immigration policy that includes a controlled border and a disciplined approach to gaining citizenship is possible, but at this point America is not even close to having that policy."
The Factor continued on the subject of violent illegal immigrants with criminology professor Casey Jordan. "We don't even know how much crime goes on out there," Jordan said, "and we don't know how many illegal immigrants there are. The potential for this violent crime is something we have to work on from a policy standpoint, because half the illegal aliens who are up for parole never even get a deportation hearing, so many of them slip through the cracks. What's really shocking is that a man like Ingmar Guandique was never really on the radar." The Factor again complained that the "the illegal alien crime problem has been constantly downplayed by the media."

FNC analysts Mary Katharine Ham and Juan Williams previewed President Obama's Tuesday night speech to Congress. "The lead dog's got to show some teeth," Williams declared, "if he wants everybody to fight. So he has to say, "listen, I've taken some steps that will work.' He has to absolutely convey conviction and reinvigorate consumer confidence." Ham pointed out that Obama has made a huge gamble and has to accept responsibility. "He's spending unprecedented amounts of money and people are beginning to get skeptical. One thing he has to do, instead of blaming Bush, is coming out and explaining how he's going to do oversight. I'd like to see him be a little more optimistic." The Factor predicted that the president will ask for patience. "I expect President Obama to say he inherited a gigantic mess and it will take time. He is going to have to up his game."

John Ziegler, producer of a documentary about Sarah Palin's treatment by the mainstream media, entered the No Spin Zone and described his film. "This is all about context," Ziegler said. "I put this entire campaign through the prism of media coverage in a context that people have never seen before, and people are going to be stunned by what they see here. The media tried to destroy her in the first few days, and NBC and other media outlets were in the tank. There are still so many misconceptions about Sarah Palin. " The Factor concurred that "every fair-minded American knows that Governor Palin got hammered by the media."

The Factor was next joined by Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who has made a film claiming that the Koran incites violence. "It would be crazy," Wilders began, "to state that all Muslims are terrorists, because they are not. But almost all terrorists are Muslims. I didn't use actors in the film, I used real images combined with certain verses from the Koran. My point is that the ideology of Islam is terror, and most people in Europe are afraid of that reality. The first thing we should do in Europe is halt the immigration from Muslim countries." The Factor challenged Wilders' methodology: "Anybody can make a 15-minute film about a religion and make it look crazy, you could take the Old Testament and pull out all kind of inflammatory stuff."

Veteran White House reporter Helen Thomas recently said that terrorists are frequently considered "freedom fighters" in their own countries, and she implied that the United States has committed similar atrocities. Thomas' assertions raised the ire of Culture Warriors Margaret Hoover and Monica Crowley. "One man's terrorist is not another man's freedom fighter," Hoover declared, "and that moral equivalency has to be called out. The mainstream media gave her a pass on this, she is treated as a sacred cow in the White House press corps because she's 88." Crowley told The Factor that Thomas deserves to be denounced, despite her age and status. "Your characterization of Helen Thomas was too mild. She has had sixty years in the press corps engaging in all this crazy talk, giving our enemies a little bit of hope and ammunition. But she will not put herself out to pasture."

While Jennifer Aniston was speaking at the Academy Awards presentation, ABC cut to her former husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The Factor's check: "Was it necessary to humiliate Jennifer Aniston? The director should not have done that. No class whatsoever!" The Factor also crowed about last week's Oscar predictions, which proved remarkably prescient: "Five for five, so I am an oracle once again. But it wasn't even difficult - politics trumped talent in Hollywood. No way Frank Langella was not the best actor this year." Meanwhile, Bill Maher used his time on stage to tout his own anti-religion documentary. The Factor's check: "The Oscars continue to demonstrate the wide gulf between the entertainment industry and the folks. Americans by the millions have disconnected from the pop culture scene." Finally, the notorious domestic terrorist Bill Ayers told Alan Colmes that he looks back with no regrets. The Factor's check: "Can we just put this guy in the pinhead hall of fame and leave him there?"

Steve Lehar, Manchester, MA: "Bill, in an effort to be oh so fair and balanced, you are turning into John McCain! Get out and give Glenn Beck your chair. We want a conservative not a Nancy Boy."
Ken Girdley, Los Altos, CA: "Bill, the segment with Beck seems to bring out the best in both of you."
Nancy Toria, Bogota, Colombia: "Bill, you are tiresome when you engage in Faustian analysis of Obama's agenda."
Dr. Bill Atwood, Bass Lake, CA : "As a middle school principal, I am astounded at what is happening today with kids and the internet. There is simply a lack of shame not only on the child's part, but also on the part of parents and our community leaders."
Jim Remington, La Habra Heights, CA: "Bill, you were right. Hollywood's passion to promote homosexuality allowed Sean Penn to win the Oscar." |
