| "Today in New York there was another far-left demonstration as a bunch of people marched on Wall Street. Why? We aren't exactly sure, but we do know these are zealots organized by some very interesting people. Does the name MoveOn.org mean anything to you? How about George Soros? MoveOn, funded in part by Soros, has openly allied itself with the protesters. There are also some unions in the mix. What do they want? The common thread seems to be 'income equality.' Many of the groups are basically socialistic outfits that want the government to take money from the affluent and give it to them. The protesters issued a statement saying 'the American way is to help one another succeed.' But these people are not asking for voluntary help; they want to take stuff by force if necessary. The far left is disappointed with President Obama because he has not been radical enough; he rightly knows the vast majority of Americans do not want socialism and he would be politically doomed if he threw in with these hard-core radicals. In the end, the protesters don't mean very much. They remind me of the late 1960's when the 'power to the people' movement was at its apex. Eventually many of those Woodstock era protesters turned into ardent capitalists. Just ask anybody on Wall Street." |
Guests: Joe Trippi & Lanny Davis
CBS News has uncovered documents showing that Attorney General Eric Holder may have misled Congress when he testified about his awareness of Operation Fast and Furious, the botched gun-running operation. The Factor pursued the story with Democrats Lanny Davis and Joe Trippi. "Eric Holder had no reason to lie," Davis insisted, "and I think there was just a mixup on the words he chose. The program was a screwed-up mistake, but Eric Holder is an honest man and he had no reason to lie." Trippi urged the White House to immediately come clean about the entire fiasco. "The real damage here is to Obama's claim that he would do something different and change Washington. It looks like they're hiding something and they should show transparency and put out all the facts now." Whether or not Holder lied to Congress, The Factor questioned his competence, saying, "On his watch this operation went terribly wrong and has led to the deaths of some American citizens." |
Guest: Karl Rove
The Factor invited Fox News analyst Karl Rove to add his insight to the Fast and Furious scandal. "If Attorney General Holder lied that's a huge story," Rove began, "but let's assume he didn't lie. That doesn't let him off the hook - he's surrounded by a bunch of nincompoops who didn't properly brief him. Nobody in the Department of Justice thought there was anything to worry about when they got a memo saying they were selling dangerous weapons to known drug dealers and gun runners. How stupid was that! The White House thinks it can simply skate and people will stop paying attention, but this is not going to go away." The Factor pointed out that most mainstream media outlets have been conspicuously silent: "NBC News hasn't covered this story since April, ABC News has given it a smidgeon, and it was Sharyl Attkisson of CBS who broke all the memos." |
Guest: Dick Morris
According to a new CBS poll, Herman Cain is now tied with Mitt Romney for the lead among Republican candidates. Political strategist Dick Morris entered the No Spin Zone to crunch the numbers. "These polls have less than 400 interviews each," Morris explained. "You can basically understand from these polls that Perry is down, Cain is up and Romney is kind of the same, but that's all you can draw from these. The Cain candidacy is a hurricane and we'll see how long it blows." The Factor predicted that 'Hurricane Herman' will eventually lose steam: "Conservatives who once liked Rick Perry are now bailing and going over to Cain. Cain has waged a very strong campaign, but he is not going to win the nomination." |
Guest: Richard Dawkins
Prominent atheist Richard Dawkins has written a new book expressly for children. The Factor interrogated Dawkins about his book and his beliefs. "This is a book about science," Dawkins said, "and everything about the natural world can be explained by science. The Judeo-Christian myth is thrown in occasionally as one of many myths that come from around the world. There is a logical connection between believing in God and sometimes doing evil things." The Factor scolded Dawkins for promoting atheism to youngsters: "You want children to reject God and religion and you're trying to get to the kids and say you're an idiot if you believe in God. The Judeo-Christian philosophy isn't a myth, it's a reality." |
Guest: Dennis Miller
The Factor invited Dennis Miller to opine on President Obama's lamentation that America has become "soft." "We're soft in the head for electing this guy," Miller declared. "He's the 'sultan of flimsy,' for God's sake. You can stay on your parents' medical coverage until age 26, you can get two years of unemployment, Obamacare will pay for medical marijuana and then they'll throw in some food stamps for munchies! This entire country is 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure III,' and it's all on him." Miller also took aim at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. "These people jumped the shark when they started comparing meat slaughterhouses to Buchenwald and Dachau, I haven't listened to a thing PETA has said since then. The fact is that sometimes animals need a defender, but these people have turned into cat ladies - they're way out there and nobody takes them that seriously anymore." |
Guest: Juliet Huddy
Texas Governor Rick Perry has declined to appear on The Factor so far, but Fox News correspondent Juliet Huddy interviewed Perry over the weekend. "I like Rick Perry," Huddy said. "I think he's a good man and a good governor and could be a good president, but he needs to crack that shell. He seems to be a little too stiff." Huddy also commented on former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's confrontational interview on Al Jazeera. "The interviewer basically was saying we are not being given the accurate number of Iraqi citizens who have been killed. What really set Rumsfeld off is that the interviewer was so biased and anti-American, but that's Al Jazeera for you. The interviewer was totally disrespectful." |
Loretta Nissen, Huntingdon Beach, CA: "Bill, why won't you say Eric Holder lied in front of the Congressional committee investigating Fast and Furious. The evidence is clear."
Lynn Lincecum, Monroe, LA: "Bill, you and Charles Krauthammer don't think Herman Cain should be president because he lacks experience. Everyone in Washington has experience. How's that working out?"
Craig Chappen, Athens, AL: "O'Reilly, I am tired of you and Krauthammer telling us who is electable." |
| Wednesday's Patriot: Mike Huckabee, who has teamed up with a group of movie and music celebrities to help raise money for famine victims in Somalia. |
