"In a new essay in Vanity Fair, Monica Lewinsky acknowledges deep regret over her sexual relationship with Bill Clinton. Although she say the relationship was consensual, she also admits, 'My boss took advantage of me ... I was made a scapegoat to protect his powerful position.' Basically, this woman's life was ruined. Meanwhile, Bill and Hillary Clinton went on to become one of the most powerful and admired couples in the world. So why does this matter today? Well, in the midst of the scandal, Hillary referred to Lewinsky as 'a narcissistic loony toon.' A young woman was being manipulated by the most powerful man on the planet, and Mrs. Clinton's reaction was to write her off as a nut case. Democrats claim to champion women's rights, but the instinct here was to duck, cover, and blame the young intern. Monica Lewinsky was used and tossed aside, then demeaned and discredited by the press and Clinton protectors, including Hillary herself. War on women? You bet! In the 1990s the Clintons pioneered it."
Laura invited reaction from Democratic strategist Jessica Ehrlich and FNC's Monica Crowley. "In terms of the 'war on women,'" Ehrlich said, "Democrats have been out there championing legislation that has helped women. I think Hillary's had a natural human reaction - everyone I know who has been that situation tends to blame the other person. This has no bearing on her ability to be a national leader." Crowley reminded Ehrlich that Hillary Clinton also denounced and demeaned other women. "Kathleen Willey, another one of Bill Clinton's victims, came forward and said, 'Hillary Clinton is the war on women.' I thought that was a really apt description because Hillary is the one who came up with the 'nuts and sluts' attack to go after all of Bill's women who came forward. For all the talk that Hillary Clinton is some kind of feminist pioneer, the truth is that she was always about protecting her political meal ticket." |

Laura welcomed Democratic strategist Mark Hannah, who ridiculed the newly-formed House select committee to investigate Benghazi. "The White House has nothing to hide and the State Department has nothing to hide," he asserted, "but I think they're kind of exasperated by this. They're facing a nuclear Russia that is taking some imperial actions and China, which is threatening America's economic supremacy. So the White House has more important things to think about than the games that Congressional Republicans are playing with Benghazi." Laura countered that politicians can walk, chew gum, and raise money at the same time: "The president is headed to Los Angeles for three days of fundraisers with big political fat cats, so he seems to have a lot of time to do a lot of things other than focus on Russia and the economy." |

Lynne Cheney, the educator and wife of Dick Cheney, entered the No Spin Zone to discuss her new biography of James Madison. "Madison's insight was that when the government is going in the wrong direction," she said, "you need to be an organized opposition. He believed it was important to be a partisan." Cheney also opined as to whether Hillary Clinton will be damaged by the Benghazi investigations. "The issue of Benghazi is devastating. She was secretary of state when the ambassador and three others were killed, and then there was this huge effort to make it appear that this had nothing to do with terrorism. If she wants to be a leader, she has to take responsibility for what happened on her watch." |

The White House has released a new report warning of the dire consequences of climate change. Laura analyzed the report with Republican Brad Blakeman and Democrat Simon Rosenberg. "The weather events of recent years have spurred a lot of people to try to do more," Rosenberg said, "and the president has also allowed investment in domestic energy construction. So the time is right to focus on the complete picture - we can do more to combat climate change while also increasing domestic energy production." But Blakeman disparaged the new report as a political document. "This is climate diversion. The president needs to pander to his base because they have had enough of Obama themselves. The president has not made good on his promises to his liberal base, whether on immigration or taxation or climate change. This is the biggest scam in history!" Laura theorized that average Americans simply don't care about so-called climate change: "We're in economic decline and a lot of people believe we're in cultural decline, so I don't think a lot of people are going to lose sleep over the number of cyclones." |

Texas Judge Jeanine Howard has given a 45-day sentence to a man who was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl. Legal analysts Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle elaborated on the judge's bizarre sentence. "The judge blamed the victim," Wiehl said, "by saying the girl 'wasn't quite the victim she portrayed herself to be.' But the victim said no repeatedly, and that is rape whether she was a virgin or not. The rapist could have gotten 20 years, but he gets 45 days!" Guilfoyle blasted Judge Howard for suggesting that the 14-year-old girl had prior sexual experience. "It's impermissible in Texas to even bring up any past sexual history of a victim in a sexual assault, and the victim strongly denies ever having sexual intercourse before the rape. The judge should never have made these statements that were irrelevant and immaterial." The legal duo turned to Oregon, where the state-run ObamaCare health care exchange is going out of business without enrolling a single individual. "This was a complete bomb," Wiehl reported, "and now the FBI is investigating whether it was just incompetence or whether there was actual criminal fraudulent activity." |

Laura welcomed immigration activist and professor Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda, who endorses a path to citizenship for illegal aliens. "The Obama administration has been diligently enforcing the law," he complained, "so we have had an increase of up to about 400,000 deportations a year. He is doing this thinking that he'll have a rational discourse with Republicans to create comprehensive immigration reform, but the Republican Party is too divided to come to grips with that. There's wide consensus that the current immigration system is broken, and now we're continuing to build a detention system that is increasingly costly and is breaking families apart." |

Finally, Laura asked Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz to opine on Monica Lewinsky's just-published revelations. "I think this is about image rehab for Monica," he speculated, "and it's a job application. She's saying she's not just a 'narcissistic loony tune,' as Hillary called her. You have to feel some sympathy for Monica Lewinsky - Bill Clinton trots around the world while she's verb and a punch line. She's had trouble finding a job and she wants to have a second act. But by raising her head now she has exposed herself to more media ridicule from people who didn't follow this 20 years ago because they were too young." Laura concluded, "Her life has been ruined and he's gone on to great celebrity." |
