"As we've stated, Donald Trump won the presidency because of his economic vision. He promised to stop U.S. corporations from sending blue-collar jobs overseas. And now the Carrier Corporation says it will stay in Indianapolis, saving a thousand jobs. There is no question that President-elect Trump, using Vice President-elect Mike Pence, put the arm on Carrier. The company wised up fast and the folks know Trump is the reason. If Mr. Trump continues to fulfill promises, he will gain much needed support in Congress. Right now, no Republican would dare defy Trump after a victory like Carrier. In the long run, there are two things that Mr. Trump needs to do to achieve a successful presidency. The first is to foster an environment where good-paying jobs are created. The second is to stop chaotic enforcement of immigration law. It is quite clear to Talking Points that the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton put the needs of immigrants, some of them here illegally, above the needs of working folks. President Obama has encouraged illegal alien amnesty for certain groups, sanctuary cities and a colossal welfare state. Meanwhile, the folks out in Indiana and other places were being laid off because corporations wanted to make a few extra bucks by moving to Mexico. Trump said, 'Enough,' and thus he won the election. Trump is off to a good start with the Carrier deal, and he might adopt a new motto with a nod to Teddy Roosevelt: Tweet softly, but carry a big stick."
The Factor invited reaction from FNC's Bernie Goldberg, who was certainly not a fan of Donald Trump. "I am not an ideologue," Goldberg declared. "When Donald Trump lied during the campaign, when he was vindictive, when he mocked people who didn't deserve it, I pointed that out and I will continue to point it out. And when he does something good, as he did in Indiana when he saved 1,000 jobs, I gladly congratulate him." Goldberg turned to the widespread media coverage of a tiny group of white supremacists. "Journalists are attracted to stories that confirm to their own biases. A lot of liberals see America through a dark lens, they think there is a lot more bigotry in this country than there really is. If journalists believe this is a country is filled with racists, they will cover these idiots." |

| Some major U.S. cities, most prominently Chicago, San Francisco, and New York, are defying Donald Trump and vowing to continue giving sanctuary to illegal immigrants. The Factor asked former Bush advisor Karl Rove to opine. "A growing number of cities," Rove groused, "have decided that being a 'sanctuary city' includes refusing to let the government know when they have an illegal in their custody who has committed a felony. This is what we saw with the case of Kate Steinle, where San Francisco refused to cooperate with the federal government. President Trump should seek a law that would put financial sanctions on these cities." The Factor concluded, "San Francisco is going out of its way to challenge Trump and I would advise him to make a statement like he did with Carrier." |

| The Factor was joined by Claude Arnold, formerly a top federal immigration official who examined claims that illegal immigrants are voting in many states. "There is a great demand for counterfeit documents," Arnold began, "because the majority of the illegal alien population wants to work. In every neighborhood where there is a significant illegal alien population, there are several document vendors who provide this service. People usually buy a counterfeit Social Security card, a counterfeit driver's license, and a counterfeit work authorization card. That three-pack goes for anywhere from $120 to $300. To register to vote, you don't even have to provide a Social Security number and nobody verifies whether that is bogus. I worked in six locations, I arrested more than 1,000 illegal aliens, and I routinely encountered people in possession of voter registration cards." |

| As you may have heard, Hampshire College in Massachusetts has stopped flying the American flag so as to "facilitate a dialogue." That decision by college president Jonathan Lash merited a special visit from Jesse Watters. Here's what some local residents told him: "A lot of people here live in an alternative universe, it's really leftist" ... "Hampshire is the most liberal college in this region" ... "I can't see a reason for an institution not to fly the flag." Watters confronted Lash himself, who absolutely, positively refused any and all comment, except one: "I don't want to talk to you about it." Back in the studio, Watters described Hampshire as the ultimate bastion of anything-goes liberalism. "You can major in ultimate Frisbee or basket weaving, there are no grades. This is the environment we are dealing with." The Factor concluded with a shot at college president Lash, describing him as "a villain and a coward." |

| Dennis Miller entered the No Spin Zone with a few observations, including his take on Fidel Castro's demise. "The one good thing," he quipped, "is that Hell is not as hot as Havana in mid-August. I always thought Castro's true genius was his ability to keep the economy so down that a Cat 5 hurricane could hit the island and it would only cause $44.37 in property damage." Miller also opined on quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who praised Fidel Castro for Cuba's educational system. "Ironically, Kaepernick has not realized that he is a walking, talking, breathing indictment of our education system. I'm beginning to think the '49' on his uniform is his IQ. He speaks so stupidly, I'm surprised the NFL hasn't put him in its concussion protocol." |

| Donald Trump ignited outrage on the left when he suggested that flag burning be outlawed. It turns out that then-Senator Hillary Clinton once proposed the same kind of law and that Trump's favorite Supreme Court Justice, the late Antonin Scalia, disagreed with Trump. Martha MacCallum elaborated on Scalia's position. "Justice Scalia ruled that the First Amendment upholds your right to burn the American flag," she reported. "He said that if he had it his way, he would put 'every scruffy, sandal-wearing weirdo in jail,' but he also said he is not a king. Justice Scalia said we live in a country where we have the right to burn the flag. It's a basic right to burn the flag, although most Americans are against it." |
