On Friday December 2, Fox News broke the story that Bowe Bergdahl formally requested a presidential pardon from Barack Obama.  Bergdahl is the 30-year-old Army sergeant charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy for leaving his Afghanistan base without permission on June 30, 2009.

Bergdahl, who says he left his post to draw attention to what he viewed as poor military leadership, was held captive by Taliban militants for nearly five years before a highly controversial prison swap for five Taliban members held at Guantanamo Bay prison.

In this episode, we bring you the latest developments in the Bergdahl saga.

Fox News National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin tells us how she broke the story of the Bergdahl pardon request, and why the Bergdahl’s clemency application was shrouded in secrecy.

Then Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer (Ret.) joins the podcast to tell us how top Pentagon leaders are reacting to the latest in the Bergdahl case.

Listen now for the best insights into the highly intriguing Bergdahl story.
