Will Kate's Law ever get passed?
"As you know, The Factor has taken the lead in trying to convince Congress and President Obama to pass Kate's Law after 32-year-old Kate Steinle was shot dead by an illegal alien felon who had been deported five times. The law would punish illegal alien criminals with aggravated felony convictions who come back to America after being deported. The law is very simple, but passing it is anything but simple. Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, will introduce a bill that contains Kate's Law, but it also contains a provision to take federal money away from sanctuary cities, which dooms the law because Democrats will filibuster. So the American people, including Kate Steinle's family, will not get the justice Kate's Law demands. I have spoken to many senators asking why Kate's Law cannot have a stand alone vote. There are a variety of excuses, but the bottom line is that it's more about party politics than protecting the folks. Senator McConnell would not take my call, and neither would Senator Diane Feinstein, a leading Democrat. Those two Americans could make Kate's Law a reality if they had the will. Any politician opposing strict penalties for foreign felons who defy deportation is unfit to hold office. You cannot defend that vote! House Republicans are dealing with chaos as the Speaker situation descends into uncertainty, and the American public is fed up with Congress getting little done. If Congress cannot even pass a simple piece of legislation that would protect innocent Americans, the USA is in dire trouble. Let Kate's Law stand on it's own, vote on it and it will pass. And if it doesn't, then the world will know which senators and Congress people are truly villainous. Get the law to President Obama and let history record what happens."

The Factor asked former White House communications director Dana Perino about the Kate's Law situation. "I think the stand alone bill would not pass," she said, "and if Mitch McConnell thought it would pass he would do it tomorrow. I think McConnell is trying to grow the number of people who will vote for it, he is on your side. I don't think McConnell is your problem, the Democrats are your problem." But The Factor again demanded that McConnell introduce Kate's Law as a stand alone bill: "Every Republican I talked with said they would vote for Kate's Law with the 'aggravated felony' wording included. Any Democrat voting against that bill would be in danger of losing their seats. Americans want Kate's Law!"
Muslim Group Unhappy with the Factor
That strange place known as Watters' World is not a likely destination for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which has lodged objections to Jesse Watters' recent report on the Muslim enclave of Dearborn, Michigan. The Factor invited CAIR's Dawud Walid to voice his group's objections. "This piece showed old and tired and bigoted frameworks about the community," Walid protested, "and there were a number of factual errors and misinformation. There have never been honor killings or women being stoned to death in Dearborn. I don't think this was satire when you go on your Facebook page and there are people saying we should bomb Dearborn, these types of depictions just give nuts more fuel." The Factor conceded that Walid and CAIR make some valid points, but also reminded him, "Every Watters' World is a satire and done in a genial way, there was no malice in that report."
Visit to Roseburg
Despite the objections of some local residents, President Obama will visit Roseburg, Oregon to console the families of last week's shooting victims. Jessy Atkison and Bonnie Schaan, the brother and mother of a 16-year-old girl injured in the attack, entered the No Spin Zone with their thoughts. "We know the president is coming here," Atkison said, "and we understand that the press has got to be here. But, please, the media should take off with Obama and let us heal." Bonnie Schaan also made a personal plea for privacy. "Our community is pulling together as one and we want to be left alone. Just let us be and let us take care of our people."
Startling Study
A new study claims that smart phone use is damaging personal relationships. Fox News anchor Shannon Bream applied a bit of truth serum to the report. "If your partner is more interested in their phone and downloading a new app and texting," she said, "it could be killing your relationship. 23% of Americans say this has caused a problem in their relationship, and the bottom line of the study is that this is 'disastrous' for romantic relationships." Eric Shawn turned to the latest case involving an illegal alien and a homicide in Texas. "This is what you warn about," he stated. "Edwin Adrian Salinas from Mexico is charged with a double murder. He was deported in 2013 and then he was deported again. The police say they believe this was a cocaine deal gone bad." The Factor lamented, "If Kate's Law were in place, they could have picked this guy up when he re-entered the country and he would be in jail for at least five years."
Controversial Comments
The left-wing media have been feasting on comments made by Dr. Ben Carson, who implied that he would have charged the shooter in Oregon. "I'm not a fan of Dr. Carson as a presidential candidate," FNC media analyst Bernie Goldberg began, "but this is a hit job on the doctor. He was specifically asked what he would do in that situation and he answered. It didn't even occur to me that he was second-guessing the victims, but this is what happens when you are a conservative with good poll numbers. The other side has to bring you down, and the other side includes a few people who at least dabble in journalism." The Factor agreed, saying, "This is an organized campaign to smear people with whom these far-left idiots disagree."
Best of...
To the dismay of CAIR and quite possibly some others, The Factor introduced a few of Jesse Watters' greatest hits. Watters elicited these comments from young women in Miami Beach: "There is a big war on women" ... "There's not enough equality in this day and age" ... "If you want to go on a date with me, you should pay." Jesse also spoke with some radical feminists in Boston, who said this: "White men are racially and gender-wise above everybody else" ... "It's a vicious cycle - the oppressed oppressing others because they're oppressed." And then there were the folks in New York City, who were decidedly mixed in their assessment of America: "America is awful" ... "Americans are super boastful" ... "I travel a lot and I can tell you this is the greatest country in the world" ... "America has enabled me to never work a day in my life."

Factor Words of the Day
Daniel Sander, New York, NY: "There is a difference between drug pushers and users. Users need rehab over prison."

Joe LiLiegro, Peabody, MA: "Talking Points was 100% correct. Drug dealers could not care less about fatal overdoses or addiction. Yet, the left feels sorry for these people?"

Gary Watkins, Indian Head Park, IL: "Bill, the only thing funnier than Miller's obscure references is your explanations of them. Kudos on your grasp of history."

L. Ronald Johnson, Roxbury, VT: "Bill, I have always regarded you as an intellectual. But to align yourself with Miller and his pathetic attempt at comedy has me wondering."
