By this time next week, the press attacks on President Trump will be back with the proverbial vengeance.  There is no question that the national media is so heavily invested in overturning Trump’s election, that it will never stop trying to destroy his presidency.
 
But the campaign is becoming more difficult.  Unless Robert Mueller can tie Donald Trump directly into illegal campaign activities, a long shot at this point, the media will have nowhere to go with their “get-Trump” agenda.  Americans are pretty much numb to leaks, innuendo, and derision.
 
So 2018 may become a stalemate between the President and the forces arrayed against him.  Meantime, the economy has a real chance to soar, which would help working Americans.
 
Many on the left are actively rooting against that, putting their ideology ahead of prosperity for their countrymen.  That may be something President Trump should look at in his quest to defeat his ardent opponents.
