Last night, 60 Minutes had two interesting pandemic news stories. The first featured Federal Reserve boss Jerome Powell predicting the American economy would rebound in the second half of the year but not to where it was in February.
The second starred Dr. Rick Bright, a whistleblower who works for the Department of Health and Human Services in the biological threat department. The Doctor says the government did not act with urgency when the Wuhan virus first appeared.
Mr. Powell seemed credible and did not allow Scott Pelley to lead him to doomsday, which is where old Scott was trying to go.
Dr. Bright was believable in asserting that a dense bureaucracy in Washington had little vision in January and February. But Bright went off the rails when he railed about being shunned for his dissent on a medicine President Trump had touted. That dissent found it’s way to the hate Trump press, so it was demotion city for Dr. Bright, which is what happens in a bureaucracy.
Norah O’Donnell failed to get the real story out of Bright. I will do that tonight on the No Spin News. We will also analyze what happens next in pandemic world.
See you beginning at 7 eastern.
