There is a big lie being promoted by the California chapter of the NAACP and that is the false assertion that the Star Spangled Banner, our National Anthem, is a racist song.

That is simply outrageous.

The Star Spangled Banner was written in 1814 by a 35 year old poet named Francis Scott Key.  He was watching the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812 and was inspired to glorify the American flag which withstood a British bombardment.

Well, now, Alice Huffman from the NAACP says the anthem does not represent “our community” because it is racist.  Ms. Huffman points to the lyrics in the third stanza “no refuge could save the hireling and slave from the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave.”

Tonight on the No Spin News we will put those words into historical perspective and analyze why the NAACP is doing what it is doing.  Don’t miss it.
