Bill joined Glenn Beck on The Blaze Radio Friday for another in their series of weekly discussions.

After some jocular banter about iTunes, podcasts, and technology, the duo dived into health care and the latest Republican proposal.  "Republicans in the Senate have come out with this vision," Bill reported, "and of course right away every Democrat objects to it.  This is all about giving free health care to Americans who are poor or sick.  The Democratic Party wants to give free health care to people who don't have a lot of stuff, and the Republicans say, no, that's not fair to the taxpayers who have to support it.  All of the other details are so confusing that your head will blow off."  Bill pointed out that Republicans also want to do away with individual and employer mandates while maintaining protection for Americans with preexisting conditions.

Bill predicted that libertarian-leaning Senator Rand Paul will never support the bill, but suggested that the other three GOP holdouts may come around, which would enable the bill to pass the Senate with 51 votes.  Beck worried that the bill, which does not fully repeal ObamaCare, may be both unconstitutional and destructive.  "People are suffering all over this country," he groused, "because they cannot afford their health care insurance and this does not reduce costs."  Bill contended that this bill could be followed by legislation that would encourage competition in health insurance, but Beck strenuously disagreed.

Beck then asked Bill to weigh in on President Trump's suggestion that a new southern border wall could include arrays of energy-producing solar panels.  "I think he is trying to confuse everybody," Bill theorized, "which is what Trump does.  He throws this out and it's probably a diversionary tactic.  He's tweaking the opposition, which he loves to do and spends far too much time on."

The B & B Boys turned to the Georgia special election, which was a stinging defeat for Democrats.  "Big California money came into the election," Bill said, "and folks down there said they wouldn't have Nancy Pelosi buying the election.  I don't think Trump voters have bailed on him because they see how viciously he's being attacked.  The progressive far left has overplayed its hand; it has made Donald Trump into a sympathetic figure, which I didn't think was possible.  People are sorry for him because he's not getting a fair shake.  The progressive far left has wrecked the party of John Kennedy."

As to whether or not Democrats have been chastened by still another loss, Bill suggested they have not:  "Democrats who may challenge President Trump in 2020 will all be far left people like Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York and Senator Elizabeth Warren.  Cuomo's value system is very much opposed to that of the mainstream American worker, and Democrats will have to get thumped one more time before they come back to moderation."

Finally, Bill took aim once again at the mainstream media:  "The national media is collapsing!  When Scott Pelley was replaced as anchor of CBS Evening News, nobody even noticed.  People don't know who the network anchors are anymore.  If you look at the information flow to the folks, you don't get any facts; you only get a bunch of crap from people who aren't qualified.  It's ridiculous what is happening."  He concluded, perhaps only half-jokingly, "Aunt Bee of The Andy Griffith Show gives me a better opinion than I'm getting from the mainstream media."

With that in mind, and asked by Beck whether he'll return to the TV wars, Bill was noncommittal:  "It would have to be a competitive vehicle because I'm having a lot of fun.  But I have some battles I want to fight and if the right forum presents itself I will consider it."

Glenn Beck and Bill will soon swap positions when Beck takes his turn in the hot seat.  He will be interrogated by Bill on Monday's No Spin News podcast.  Until then, have a great weekend.
