The main focus of Beck’s interview with Bill today was to analyze the GOP memo and the effect that it will have on America.

Today, the House Intelligence Committee released the controversial memo, prepared by GOP chairman Devin Nunes, alleging surveillance abuses by the FBI and Department of Justice. President Trump declassified the 4-page memo and authorized its release. Democrats, the FBI and the DOJ have been against the release of this memo saying that doing so would be reckless and dangerous.

Why is the release of this memo so important? Beck starts off by saying that the memo is not about Trump and it’s not even about Hillary Clinton, it’s about the FBI and what they said to the FISA court. Bill says that the reason that the White House waited so long to release the memo is because they are afraid of the backlash from the Justice Department and the FBI. There is fear on the part of the president’s men that the backlash is going to damage Trump. However, the American people have a right to know how the FBI is conducting itself.

Bill goes on to say that Trump should come out and explain that he’s releasing this memo so that Americans know there was an abuse of surveillance under the Obama Administration. To be fair and get both sides of the story, Bill says that both the GOP and the Democratic memos should be released.

The Democrats are fighting so hard to not let Americans see the memo. Beck says the trouble will come if the FBI affidavit did not tell the FISA court that this was from Fusion GPS, who was working with the Russians, and it was paid for by the DNC and the elect Hillary Clinton campaign. If the FBI didn’t tell the FISA court those things and if they didn’t double check the facts that they were using as specifics, then you can determine that something dirty was going on here. Bill agrees with Beck’s point, saying it’s absolutely true and if there were exculpatory evidence given to the judge that would have already been released. The Democrats would have already put out that information, so you have to assume there isn’t any evidence.

Beck asks Bill if he thinks this situation is deeper than Watergate. Bill says that Watergate was important because it showed an abuse of power at the presidential level, where a low-level crime was committed, and they tried to cover it up. This memo is an entirely different thing because it is not associated with the White House, it’s associated with James Comey, the former FBI director. Comey is the guy who will ultimately have to take the fall for this. At this point, it seems like the scandal is within the FBI.

The real truth will come out when the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz submits his report which will name people in the FBI and say who was responsible for what. That report will unravel everything.

According to Bill the headline of this memo and the conversation surrounding it has to do with when Trump accused Barack Obama of wiretapping people in the Trump Tower. Well, here is the proof that Obama did do that. Carter Page had access to the Trump Tower and Page did speak to many people in the Trump campaign and all the while he was being surveilled.

The memo is the first drop. Then, after the inspector general’s report comes out you’ll be looking at a criminal investigation, but who’s going to do it? Is the FBI going to investigate the FBI? You can count on another special prosecutor. In the meantime, Mueller and his collusion investigation can’t be believed no matter what he comes up with. So, overall, this is a big gift to Donald Trump.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out Bill’s interview with Trump during last year’s Super Bowl! Trump will not be conducting the typical presidential Super Bowl interview this year, so take a look back at what Trump and Bill discussed last year. The video is posted on BillOReilly.com.
