As you may know, the far-left despises Fox News, primarily because we are more skeptical of liberal America than most of the other national media.

Billionaire George Soros is now funding the vicious far-left website Media Matters to the tune of about $1 million a year at least, and that website is now threatening advertisers who appear on FNC.

For example, the Orbitz travel agency was threatened, but they are patriots over there and issued a statement:

"[Media Matters] is a political organization that has been funded pretty extensively to go after one network, and we aren't going to engage in that fight. We have a strict policy of tolerance and non-discrimination, and that means we don't favor one political side over another."

So every American should use the services of the Orbitz travel agency because they understand what freedom of expression is all about and they have courage.

So why is the far-left increasing its attacks on Fox News? The answer is very simple: the presidential election of 2012.

Last time around, FNC provided honest coverage of both candidates. Studies done about the Obama-McCain race show we were just as tough on the senator from Arizona as on the senator from Illinois.

That doesn't play well in far-left precincts. If you do not openly support President Obama, you are the enemy.

Let me give you an example of openly supporting the president: NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell on Mr. Obama's call for Israel to go back to the 1967 border:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ANDREA MITCHELL, NBC NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Netanyahu seized on it even before he got on the plane. He criticized the president, and in such a fashion, he lectured him in the Oval Office. And if you look at that picture that you have up there right now, it was a stone-faced Barack Obama and Netanyahu basically treating him like a schoolboy. People even who work for Netanyahu, some Israeli officials told him later that he went too far, that it was -- it was really rude and that there would be blowback to this.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Now, Ms. Mitchell is a reporter for NBC News, not a commentator. So why the slant? Treating him like a schoolboy? Come on. Here at Fox News, reporters can't do that.

And FNC's approach is paying off. According to a new poll conducted by Suffolk University in Boston, Fox News is by far the most trusted national TV news source in America. Twenty-eight percent say they trust Fox News the most. In second place is CNN with 18 percent. By contrast, MSNBC, the far-left network, is most trusted by just seven percent of the American public.

On the network news side, 10 percent trust NBC, 6 percent trust ABC and CBS. Those are dismal numbers for the network organizations, and I think it's because of a perceived left-wing tilt.

By the way, according to the same poll, I, your humble correspondent, am the most trusted political TV guy in the country by far. CNN's Anderson Cooper is second.

Summing up, Fox News is under attack once again. The Orbitz travel agency deserves a tremendous amount of credit. And the American public has the media's number, no question.

And that's "The Memo."

Pinheads & Patriots

I'm picking them all this week. Now, I've known Bill Maher for years, and recently, as you know, he's taken a drastic turn to the left. We've documented that on "The Factor." Here's the latest:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL MAHER, HOST, HBO'S "REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER": You know, in Europe, socialism is just another political party, and it doesn't mean that we're against making a profit. It just means that government takes over certain things, like hospitals and prisons and the military that shouldn't be – schools -- that should not be run for profit.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Well, Maher is absolutely correct. But why? Why would any clear-thinking human being want to give the government more power? That erodes freedom, Bill. Are you hearing me? Don't be a pinhead.

On the patriot front, country singer John Rich won the "Celebrity Apprentice" deal and is donating his $250,000 winnings to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For that, Mr. Rich is a patriot. Way to go.
