Hey BillOReilly.com Premium Members. Welcome to the No Spin News for August 2nd 2016.

So this Trump/Khan thing, this is going to blow over, but it will be used by the pro-Hillary people and the anti-Trump people in their ads and things like that. But the folks…I think this is the end of it today, unless Trump continues it and he probably won’t. But you never know with him.

The main point is that Trump has got to discipline himself to not respond to situations that aren’t important in the sense that…how many votes are going to be changed by Mr. Khan? None.

Now, I learned this the hard way. I’ll tell you a story and you might find this interesting.

In the mid-nineties, I guess maybe two or three years after we started The Factor…late nineties…and we became successful, Al Franken, that despicable human being, attacked me in a book. He said I was a liar and I faked my upbringing in Levittown and all this stuff.

Now, I replied to him directly. I should not have. I should have ignored him. So what did my reply do on television? It elevated his book to best seller status because people were curious about what he said so they bought the book.

So I helped Al Franken.

Al Franken is a liar. I know people, I know him a little bit, but I know people who know him well—very few people have anything good to say about this man. I mean, he’s just, as a person, you wouldn’t want to be hanging with Al Franken. At the time, I knew that. I knew he was a bad person and I still was dumb enough, and it’s all my mistake. One-hundred percent my mistake to engage. I didn’t lose it, I mean, I certainly got my point out that he was a liar and a charlatan, but I helped him and I learned something from that.

If you’re going to respond to critics or lies, whatever, deceit, you’ve got to do it surgically. Trump’s mistake is that he, as Kirsten Powers pointed out, he brought in a wife, the wife of a dead army captain. She’s just standing there, kind of an innocent bystander. And he referred to her and said maybe she couldn’t say anything because of Islam.

It’s speculation, what good does that do? It just gives the Trump haters a big opportunity.

Look, this is a complicated process. I expect, as I’ve reported, that you’re going to find, every single week, they’re going to find somebody else to bait Trump, say terrible things about Trump, accuse Trump. And the right will do it towards Hillary, but Hillary they’re going to get her through Bill.

Be on the lookout for more Bill Clinton stuff. Nasty, but it’s going to happen.
