Hillary Clinton to Spend 5 Days Preparing for Las Vegas Debate
Hey BillOReilly.com Premium Members. Welcome to the No Spin News, Monday, the 17th of October 2016.
Big debate on Wednesday—everybody’s out in Vegas but me. I can do my job better here because there’s just too many distractions when I went out to Hofstra. I had to have fifteen security guys, people yelling and screaming. Not bad, I mean they’re not yelling bad things. It’s just that they want pictures, and I always pose for them and sign what they want, but I’ve got to work, and it just gets crazy.
I can analyze better in a quieter, less frenzied atmosphere. So I’m going to stay here in New York.
The debate—It’s going to be well watched, but nothing like the first one. It probably won’t even top the second one. But with the salacious element…I don’t think so. I think people have had enough. I think most people know what they’re going to do. I think there’s going to be a low turnout.
The only hope, real hope that Trump has is if there’s a high turnout and his people come out in tremendous numbers. Because I do believe that there’ll be a minority fall off. President Obama mobilized that crew very, very effectively. I don’t think they have a great love for Hillary Clinton, the minority community, maybe Hispanics a little bit more than Blacks, but I’m not looking for an overwhelming turnout there.
If Trump can get his people out, which are primarily white working-class men, and he’s got to win over some women in the last three weeks, he’s got a shot. But it’s a very, very narrow corridor that Donald Trump is walking right now. Because he’s on the defensive. We all know the press hates him. We all know that. But that’s the reality of what the country is right now.
I told Trump, and maybe you’ll remember, the first time that he announced I interviewed him and I said “they’re going to come after you,” because they do it to me. I’m not running for office or anything like that. I mean, every single day, cheap shot after cheap shot, lie after lie after lie. And it’s because these people who dislike traditional thought or conservative opinion, they want to hurt you. And there’s some on the other side that do that to liberals, I understand that, but not nearly in the numbers. Because I see all the clip files.
You think Anderson Cooper is getting a lot of hate mail? He gets some, but he doesn’t get anything like we get here. It’s an organized effort. Absolutely organized.
So I told Trump that, he didn’t quite believe me. I think he was a little stunned, but I think he should drop it now. You said you didn’t do it, everybody knows the press is against you, you don’t have to say it and say it and say it, everybody knows it. Just concentrate, as I said in the Talking Points, on three issues that you believe the American people back you on. Just pound it, pound it, pound it for three weeks.
That’s it. You’ve got a chance then. If he gets bogged down, and believe me, there’s going to be other things. Hillary Clinton too—you know they’re holding back stuff for Hillary Clinton on the Wikileaks thing.
A week before the election, and maybe tomorrow you might have some sensational thing drop. It makes our lives as news analysts miserable because we don’t know any…you can’t even get dinner anymore. You’re just like “oh, what’s this now?”
And then to vet it is almost impossible. You can’t vet this stuff.
So anyway, that’s where we are. Trump still has a chance, but not a great chance. Everything has got to break for him and the turnout has got to be big.
