Akron Beacon Journal: A former University of Akron student pleaded guilty Thursday to charges he hacked into the university's computer system to launch Internet attacks against computers.
Mitchell L. Frost, 22, of Bellevue, was charged with one count of causing damage to a protected computer system and one count of possessing 15 or more unauthorized access devices.
Authorities say some of Frost's attacks shut down Rudy Giuliani's 2008 presidential campaign Web site, one for Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly and conservative Ann Coulter's site. Prosecutors say Frost temporarily interrupted the Web sites, requiring the site managers to "intervene and repair their computer systems."
