Columbia University allows ROTC back on campus

Wall Street Journal:Columbia University plans to formally recognize the Navy's officer-training program later this year, a reversal of a four-decade-long policy. The move, announced Friday, comes as some of the region's elite universities gingerly reestablish relationships with the armed forces that ended during the Vietnam War. Faculty at Yale University are set to vote early next month on following Columbia in opening the campus to the military's Reserve Officer Training Corps. Yale administrators are also in talks with the Navy and Air Force about such a move, a spokesman said.
