The terrible picture of a migrant father and his young daughter laying dead in the Rio Grande River should finally wake up every American to the fact that Congress has failed to deal with this now life-death situation.

 

US immigration law is in tatters and Washington just sits there.  Many democrats like Pelosi and Schumer said a border crisis was fiction, an opinion that’s insulting and absurd.

 

It is long past time for Washington to protect both Americans and migrants trying to enter this country.  What a colossal dereliction of duty.

 

Look, only irresponsible people believe open borders will benefit this country.  And blanket amnesty for undocumented people is totally unacceptable if the rule of law means anything.

 

All Americans should demand that Congress finally deal with the border and illicit immigration in a way that will stop the madness.

 

Which is shameful and, now, lethal.
