President Trump is a lively guy who often lives on the edge. He creates interesting situations wherever he goes and now the new Republican Senate will experience that up close and personal.
Mr. Trump is apparently nominating Robert Kennedy, Jr. to head the Health and Human Services agency subject to Senate confirmation.
Uh-oh.
Then there's former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who Trump wants as Attorney General. Again, the Senate has to say yes. Again, uh-oh.
At this point, Kennedy and Gaetz are both long shots to get confirmation. I believe Donald Trump knows that, but I'm not positive. Don't know who he's listening to these days.
Pam Bondi is loyal to Trump and has the experience and credentials to be AG. Gaetz doesn't, but would be a major change agent, which is what Trump wants.
Bombs away.
Neither Gaetz nor the conspiracy-shrouded Kennedy would get one single vote from Democrats in the Senate. If Donald Trump can cajole 51 Republicans to embrace his boys - that would be an awesome power display.
The odds are two touchdowns against.
