New York Times: Dan Rather's request for an appeal in his lawsuit against CBS was turned down on Tuesday, marking an apparent end to the breach-of-contract case. Mr. Rather, below, the former anchor of "CBS Evening News," had appealed to the New York Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, after the appellate division of the New York State Supreme Court ruled unanimously in September to dismiss the $70 million lawsuit he brought against the network in 2007.
