Denver Post: The Denver City Council on Monday gave initial approval to a measure that would require firms to ensure the immigration status of its employees through a federal verification program if they want to get a city construction contract. The council voted 9-4 in favor of the new requirement, with council members Paul Lopez, Judy Montero, Paula Sandoval and Doug Linkhart dissenting.
