Seventy five years ago the Battle of the Bulge was raging in Belgium. More than 19 thousand Americans would lose their lives in the fight which was pretty much the last offensive campaign for Hitler’s war machine.
I chronicle the battle in my book “Killing Patton” and if you want to understand the American spirit during the worst war in history, you might check it out.
Today our national spirit is vastly different than it was in December of 1944. Hardship and lethal threats tend to unite people against those things. And, out of necessity, we were a united nation back then.
But not now.
I have never seen so much division in America and I’ve been paying close attention for 45 years. Many of the institutions that once bound us together are evaporating - like organized religion, love of country, traditional education based upon achievement.
The rise of social media is changing everything. And the corruption of the national media is a huge divisive factor as well.
Tonight on the No Spin News, I will analyze why so many Americans despise each other. Yes, President Trump is a reason, but not the primary one. I’ll see you at 7 eastern.
