Happy Thanksgiving to all, hope you can relax a bit. Here are some late November musings from the No Spin Zone.

In my whole life, I have never seen a human being sit in front of a television set and actually WATCH the Thanksgiving Day Parade. They might glance at it, but people riding on floats, waving - no!  Giant Snoopy balloons? Why? The Rockettes? Don’t know anyone who has paid to see them.  Legs up, legs down.  You can watch that at the health club.

Eating is another matter.  Just about everyone likes Thanksgiving dinner.  This year, the turkey is less expensive than last year.  Good.  And now comes a study from the Campbell’s food company about which sides are most popular in the land of the free.  Top five: Stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, Green Bean casserole.

Mac and cheese?  How does that tie in? Gooey carbs.  The Puritans would scorn that dish.  I like turnips, a vegetable with substance.

So, here’s hoping you have plenty for which to be thankful.  Some folks don’t. But most Americans are fortunate just to live here, and most everyone in the world knows it.
