The hiring of Rudy Giuliani by the White House signals a new strategy in the on going Russia-Collusion investigation. Up until now, President Trump has been defending himself on twitter and some surrogates like Kelly Anne Conway have appeared on television to put forth a pro Trump point of view.
Now, Mr. Giuliani is likely to be the media point person, which might be a much smarter strategy.
It is hard to believe that Mayor Giuliani would take the job if there was a chance strong evidence would emerge against the President. Why would Giuliani risk tarnishing his reputation? So, we can assume the Trump lawyers have presented the case to him with optimism.
If the White House is smart, it will begin to tell Americans exactly how this elongated probe is hurting the people. The stupid porn actress stuff is a low point and surely Rudy Giuliani can excoriate a media that is out of control as well as an investigation that seems to be going no where very slowly. Meanwhile, the President’s attention is diverted from serious issues.
Remember, just last week assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told Donald Trump that, after all this time, he is not suspected of wrongdoing vis-à-vis Russia.
