Moving National Guard troops to the Southern border is something I have been suggesting since the Al Qaeda attack in 2001.  Now, President Trump is doing it in the face of a vicious opioid epidemic and continued illegal alien crossings.

    

The Guard will essentially back up federal border patrol agents, making their jobs and lives easier.  Sounds like a plan, right?  Who could possibly object?

    

How about every left wing commentator in the universe.

    

This makes no sense whatsoever.  Hard drugs are pouring into the USA from Mexico and the census says that nearly 12 million people have taken up residency in America illegally.  Sounds like a national security situation to me.

    

Yet many on the left oppose efforts to stop the madness.
