Politico: President Barack Obama's approval ratings during his second year in office were highest in the state where he grew up, and the city where he now spends most of his time, Gallup found in an analysis of its 2010 polling. In Hawaii, Obama's overall approval rating for the year was 65.9 percent in Gallup's daily tracking polls, while in the District of Columbia it was even higher, averaging 84.4 percent for the year. Both the island state and the capital city are more liberal than most of the country, and both had the highest Obama approval ratings for 2009 as well.
