Guardian: Barack Obama was praised by the right and left today for a Tucson memorial service speech in which he rose above the political blame-game and called for America to engage in a civil discourse. Even the rightwing Fox News commentator Glenn Beck thanked him for "becoming the president of the United States of America". The speech was compared to those of Ronald Reagan after the Challenger explosion in 1986, and Bill Clinton after the 1995 Oklahoma bombing, and described as a healing moment for the nation.
