USA Today: President Obama signed a temporary extension of the George W. Bush tax cuts into law today, saying the heavily criticized package will "protect the middle class, grow our economy ... and create jobs for the American people." Without the bill, all of the tax cuts that Bush signed into law would have expired at the end of the year, and American families would be looking at thousands of dollars in higher taxes, Obama said at a signing ceremony.
