The Academy Awards were announced today.

"Oppenheimer," "Poor Things," "Barbie," and "Killers of the Flower Moon" lead the way with nominations.

While 'Barbenheimer,' the media's nickname for those who chose to watch both films back-to-back became a social media phenomenon, the rest of the nominees and films had fleeting runs in the theaters.  Martin Scorsese's 'Flower Moon' was another marathon, three and a half hours from the iconoclast director.

One must ask, who were these movies made for?

This year's Oscars appear to be another self-indulgent showcase, made for critics and movie snobs.
