The pandemic is not an easy story to cover every day but I think this news website is way ahead of the corporate media outlets. Every time I sample cable and network news, the repetition is numbing and the anchors looked scared - afraid they might say the wrong thing and wind up fired.

    

But the TV news audiences are big, there’s no denying it.  Especially for President Trump who continues to draw millions of viewers for his appearances.

    

When people are frightened, and the pandemic is certainly causing fear, they look for reassurance.  The President and a few commentators provide that.  They attract the most viewers.  Sometimes, however, facts override hope.  Not that the virus will overwhelm us, it won’t.  But all Americans should seek facts, not spin, in order to protect themselves and their families.
