WTXF-TV: The city of Philadelphia is downplaying a controversy over removing the word "Christmas" from a public area. But the story has gone national via the Internet. Philadelphia city officials asked the organizers of its third annual "German Christmas Village" market fair at City Hall to take the word "Christmas" off a sign for the event. The marketing group that puts on the event at the publicly owned space agreed, and that is when the trouble started.
