Poll: Americans want a viable third party option

USA Today: A slim majority of Americans say it's time for a third party because the Democratic and Republican Parties are doing such a poor job, a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows. Though 52% of Americans call for an alternative to the GOP and the Democratic Party, the poll found that is 6 percentage points lower than last August -- when calls for political change in Congress were starting to heat up before the 2010 midterm elections. By comparison, 40% of Americans say the two major political parties are doing an adequate job.
